My partner works downtown and is nice enough to grab something on the way before he comes home. He mentioned this place but hasn't tried it. I'm always up for trying new things but I've been burned before, so I had no expectations.OMG! The steak bowl that I got was SUPER delicious and TENDER! I haven't eaten such tender steak in a long time! I especially like how there is enough sauce so that the bottom of the bowl so you're not just eating plain rice. Will definitely order from here again!

Roast beef bowl is incredibly delicious, well worth the price. The beef slices are large and not at all chewy, especially considering the $14 price tag. Highly recommended!

One of the most consistent and reliable options for takeout if you work downtown. The eggplant bowl is very well done as it has a nice silky texture which can be hard to achieve and it’s complemented perfectly by the chili garlic sauce. I would recommend the roast beef bowl over the steak as it’s more tender. Their rotating weekly specials (pictured) are what keeps me coming back; the chicken katsu has a nice crispy exterior and the sweet & spicy battered shrimp bowl pairs well with fresh cucumber. My main criticism is with the rocket greens as they are served plain, they don’t add much to the bowls on their own and would be better if they were tossed in a light dressing, or replaceable with cooked vegetables. I would also say that the steak and roast beef could be salted better as they seem to rely mostly on the sauce for seasoning. A brown rice option would be nice. Lastly, the miso soup is a great addition for the winter, it’s one of the more flavourful and savoury bowls of miso soup I have had.

A small hole in the wall takeout restaurant, this place was quite busy on Friday at 11am, at the time of opening. I ordered the roast beef bowl and I enjoyed every bite! They were generous with the rib-eye beef portion, and the beef was very soft, almost too soft. The caramelized onion sauce complimented the beef and worked well with the white sauce and rice. My favourite part of the bowl was the egg; typically the egg whites are quite firm with the gooey yolk, but at bovine, both the egg yolk and whites were gooey, and mixing it into the rice added a thicker texture to the rice bowl, which I enjoyed. The portion was a good size for lunch as I felt satisfied but not overly full. I would definitely return to try the steak bowl or the katsu chicken sando!
I purchased the rib-eye bowl. I used to get it pre-covid and thought it was amazing, but this is my second time after covid and both times it was not good . It actually seems to taste worst than the last time I went and today was me giving it a chance in case the last time was just a miss. There isnt much sauce and just overall, it is not as good as it used to be. Will not be going back.I also asked if there was cutlery in the bag, such as a fork or spoon and I was told yes. The bag had chopsticks.....

Their bowls are high quality and delicious. I love it so much I wish they were open on weekends, but you can tell they value work life balance for their staff which is reflected in the good service and quality of food :)
