I like this place. I wouldn't go here as a night out, but at the right times, it's a chill hang. The atmosphere varies wildly depending on the day. On some nights it's louder and is in line with what you'd expect a university bar to be like, and sometimes it's very relaxed, and you can even find some people using it as a study spot (not something I would consider or really recommend, but you do you as long as it's not busy and no one needs the table). UBC's unique (financial, geographic) situation means that there are a million fast food places to eat around campus but too few mid-range sit-down restaurants. The Gallery is hard to find (4th floor of "The Nest," the big student centre) but a useful addition to the lineup around campus. There's a small but varied menu, a huge amount of seating, and some selection of alcohol.
