TLDR: This is the best sushi I've ever had. We were in Whistler skiing and locals told us to come here over other sushi restaurants. Family owned, ask the owner lady what to eat. We saw the reviews and wondered if this was the right choice. We came in and I did find the owner lady and I told her we just wanted what she recommended. We had the most amazing meal. Wasn't too much and we ordered more. I can't tell you what all we had but they walked us through the meal and everything was simply amazing. Some sort of tuna stomach thing that was unbelievable. Also (pictured) is this seaweed with fish eggs attached that was so good. Couldn't recommend this place more.

Having lived in Japan, there are few places in Vancouver that really hit the same vibe as what it was like to stroll into a casual neighborhood sushi place. Miko is the one that's hit that mark the best and I look forward to every trip there. The ochazuke is a must buy.

There are 2 old women who I think are managing the staff, who are some of the most obnoxious pieces of human trash that I have ever seen. They yell all the time at their staff non-stop, have 0 respect for their staff and they ask for respect in return. I am pretty sure they have new staff every month because nobody wants to work there because of the arrogance and pride of those two old women.
We popped in hungry for lunch and cold from walking in the rain- what a cosy spot!! We were greeted with hot tea- which hit the spot! We sat at the bar as we didn't have reservations and majority of the tables were reserved. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, we got to watch the raw dishes being prepared. I did get the sashimi sampler and edamame, the edamame must be boiled in a broth of some sort as there was tons of flavour. The fish was super fresh and delicious. My bf got the teriyakis- and they were huge portions and came with soup and rice! The service was super friendly and quick and the prices were very good for the amount of food we got!

I absolutely loved this place. My husband and I stayed at a hotel up the street so we walked here. We’ve been here a few days and have been doing a bit of a sushi crawl, and have tried several other places in the area, and THIS was the best by FAR. Their tuna sashimi was excellent, their miso was perfect, and every single ingredient tasted fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was unbeatable. Some might say it’s not upscale, but my husband and I have never preferred that anyway. We loved looking around at all the notes on the walls from happy customers from decades past. But the main reason I would come back is the service. Everyone in here is attentive and kind. We will be coming back! Will have to make it a tradition whenever we come back to Canada.Side note about the photos: would’ve gotten better photos of the food but we were too busy eating it all!
