We had the matcha ice cream. What I like is that it's not as sweet as some other western dessert places. Still one cone is enough to satisfy the sweet tooth of my family of four.

Their parfaits have not changed at all since they opened and still taste great but due to price increases it is not as great of a value as it once was. I would still recommend any of the Shiratama parfaits. Service was quick and the employees were friendly. The matcha ice cream and the hojicha lattes are still excellent but only for takeout. The cleanliness of the seating area is not to standard as of late. I would still recommend their drinks and parfaits but I would not want to use dine in at their seating area.

Walked by Nana's Green Tea enroute to dinner and stopped on the way back for dessert. Opted for the matcha cheesecake. The presentation and taste were excellent...not overly sweet and the matcha was nicely balanced. It was a very positive dessert experience.

Nana's Green Tea has been a favourite of mine for a long time. The matcha and hojicha flavours in their desserts are strong, but balanced - and maybe most importantly, they're also not too sweet! I've tried all of their parfaits and recommend any of them, although I seem to always go back to the good old classic matcha shiratama parfait. As for the lattes, I love the hojicha-based ones. The matcha ones are also great, I find that that Nana's hojicha is just a bit more special. Dine-in seating here is a bit small, with a limited number of tables in the back. I'll also mention that what I really didn't enjoy on my most recent trip here was that the spoons were not clean. They gave me new ones, but those were also covered in sticky grime. I hope this was a one-off, but it was enough for me to feel icked out about coming back.

This cafe serves matcha-based (and other Japanese-flavoured) desserts and drinks and some Japanese comfort meals. The sweets are their speciality but I do like the savoury dishes too, they're simple but it's a refreshing style of food and they seem to use good ingredients including fresh seafood. I have tried the ikura & salmon and teriyaki unagi dashi chazukes, and the tofu & avocado donburi (this is the one vegetarian savoury and it's kind of a "secret menu" item in fine print as a variation on the tuna w/ avocado donburi). The teriyaki unagi dashi chazuke is the clear winner out of these three for me since the teriyaki delivers a lot of flavour, but the other two were still enjoyable and . They have one vegetarian item on the savoury side which is kind of a "secret menu" item (it's in fine print): the tuna w/ avocado donburi can be ordered with tofu instead of tuna.As for the namesake desserts and drinks, the three matcha treats that I have tried (matcha tiramisu, matcha basque cheesecake, matcha gateau chocolat) all carried a strong matcha flavour, not too sweet, and are just generally good baking. I haven't actually tried the matcha in drink form, but the hojicha is great and the adzuki latte was also really nice - very light earthy flavour but lots of red bean. The cold brew hojicha is my favourite so far, though, it was very refreshing and had a nice clean taste.I've been three times over the past few years and maybe it's just the menu items that I've picked, but I feel like the quality has been slightly upped each time, which is a relief to see in an era where it's mostly the opposite happening. The staff is nice and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere here is a little minimalist but I always find it relaxing. The counter to order is in front while the dine-in seating is in the back through a narrow passage past the counter (not too narrow as to be inaccessible, though - you could fit a wheelchair through), which keeps it away from the chaos of people coming in and out for to-go orders.

As a matcha lover I had to come try here!! Their soft serve was really strong in matcha flavour which I loved. I ordered the Nama chocolate soft serve which was almost $10 so it was a bit pricey. There was a lot of soft serve in the cone, it was the perfect amount to share for too (it was probably too much for me by myself). I’ve had Royce nama chocolates and this Nama chocolate was definitely different from those, it was much more firm and more bitter tasting (it was probably not made with white chocolate and maybe used more/a stronger powder). I did like this place and would maybe try other things, but it’s a bit out of the way for me and can also add up to be pretty pricey so I would only save trips for when I’m in the area.

Nana's has been around for a while but it was my first time trying! We decided to go for the matcha soft serve with mochi and red bean paste. This cost around $9-10. Not sure paying the extra for the topping was worth it as it was a super small amount of red bean paste! We chose to have ours in a cup as we weren't sure if there would be a free table, but our friends chose a cone and said the cone was tasty. Overall, the soft serve tasted as expected.I can't believe how much desserts cost these days, I understand their rent is probably through the roof but $20 for a parfait seemed steep to me! I'm not in a rush to come back

I'd been curious about the food at Nana's Green Tea for quite awhile so I was quite excited to see that it was one of the restaurants participating in Dine Out Vancouver this year. As soon as the snow let up, I went out with a friend to Nana's Green Tea for lunch. Their Dine Out Vancouver menu was $28 and offered the choice of a hot or cold drink, main course and dessert. We ordered the following: Azuki Latte (cold) Hojicha Latte (hot) Ikura and Salmon Chazuke Matcha Warabimochi Parfait Matcha Nama Choco Parfait I wasn't too crazy about the cold Azuki Latte but everything else was delicious. We both ordered the same dish for our main course. I had half expected to see raw salmon in my bowl but was elated to look into my bowl and see pieces of cooked salmon instead. This is a place I could bring our daughter to as she doesn't eat raw fish. The salmon was very moist and tender, and the texture of the Ikura really complemented the dish. I think it would have been nice if the server had taken time to explain how to eat our food. Our main course came with a teapot containing broth to pour over the Ikura and Salmon Chazuke. My friend and I both knew either from a combination of Google research or from past experience that the broth needed to be poured over the food. However, I can easily imagine other people sitting down to this meal, and not realizing that there was a broth in the teapot that needed to be pour over their food. Both desserts consisted of matcha soft serve twisted with a vanilla soft serve, and accompanied with various toppings. Pairing the matcha soft serve with vanilla is a brilliant idea as the matcha soft serve is on the bitter side. Our daughter would love this matcha ice cream as she has a liking for bitter matcha ice cream. I'll be back here sometime for sure so that I can treat our daughter to the matcha ice cream! Service: Could have been better Parking: Mostly paid parking on the streets but there are a few free spots on the side streets Location: 2135 W. 41st Ave., Vancouver, BC

Have to order a week in advance for a full Macha roll cake, could serve 5-6 individual slices for 1 roll. This is a takeaway order.

I came here since I saw the reviews were excellent. We ordered many cups of matcha to go. We only wanted to wait in the sitting area, but the lady stated you couldn't because you had ordered to go. We also provide tips. In comparison, the other cafe was really friendly and did not say anything like this. We're a little upset and not return again

I know Nana's green tea is famous for their matcha, still I really wanted to try their hojicha parfait instead lol. The parfait was really good, I love the richness of the tea flavor from the hojicha ice cream. Theres so much ingredients in the parfait, like roasted green tea jelly, bean paste and mochi balls. The bitterness of the green tea jelly balances the sweetness from the ice cream and the bean paste. It's just very satisfying eating so many different textures all in one parfait! I had to order a green tea before I go just because I can't leave this place without trying their famous green tea. I absolutely love everything I had and would definitely come back again!

Nana is one of my favourite cafe/ dessert place. We got the fall special sweet potato latte with mochi balls. It was delicious and just a little bit on the sweeter side. The warm latte paired with a bit of whipping cream on top is perfect for a cold fall day like today. We also got the adzuki matcha cake. It was just okay, and the matcha flavour is too mild to detect.
