A boutique Japanese restaurant. Good service. Food is on the salty side. The ventilation is not too good and all my clothes smell.

AMAZING!Sister restaurant to SUIKA, RAISU, RAJIO, KINGYO, TAKENAKA, so it had to be good! And it was GREAT!!!My fave items in order of preference:- BLUE FIN TUNA BATTERA $21Amazing.- DUCK CARPACCIO $15Duck breast Suos vide to rare thinly cut served with yuzu kosho sauce. Loved it. Would get it again.- FLUFFY RARE UNAGI OMELETTE $12Light and fluffly omelette cooked to rare with chopped unagi. Pretty unique!- CHILLI ROSE CARBONARA YAKIUDON $21Udon, prawns, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, red chili pepper, korean chili pepper, spicy bean paste and egg-yolk pan fried with rose sauce, topped with parmesan, tomatoes, and arugula. delicious.- SALMON BATTERA $19Excellent. Maybe better than Miku?- CHICKEN DASHI KARAAGE $14Chicken thighs marinated in dashi-soy batter, deep fried to juicy perfection. I think I prefer standard battered chicken karaage. But it was still good!- TINGLY HOT PORK AND NAPA UDON $20Udon, thinly spliced pork belly, chinese cabage, chinese chives in a dashi broth with a kick from spicy bean paste. This was good, but wasn't anything stand out!If you go during dinner time, they open up their ROBATA menu (bbq meats). Overall, great vibe, great food, would definitely come back!

New Fuji is a restaurant that will not leave a bad aftertaste in your mouth, but it will certainly leave you the gift of wrist pain the very next day.Now that's a sentence I would never have imagined writing, but it aptly captures the experience at new Fuji: all style, no substance - or rather all substance sacrificed for the sake of style. If you take a look at any of the udon dishes in the gallery, you'll see they are all served in tall, oversized bowls that, when turned upside down, look like Mount Fuji ?. Its a creative asthetic choice, until you realize the bowls make the act of actually eating your food needlessly difficult - you can switch to a fork and spoon or you're forced to grip your chopsticks at an uncomfortably high angle, which isn't great for your wrists. All the appetizers, such as the popularized corn karage and duck and beef nigiri are all pretty to look at. But putting them in your mouth is a different story. I would describe the flavors if I could, but all i remember is everyone at our table pointing out how salty their food was. This is before mentioning other factors like the pitiful portion sizes and servers pushing us to order drinks on multiple occasions. I would say it was not a pleasant experience, but thinking back to it, eating the yakiudon was such a wild swing of emotions that I experienced most of the stages of grief and ironically had a fun time.1) wow the dish is huge, there's no way I'll be able to finish.2) oh the actual food portion is tiny, will I even be full?3) the food is so salty I dont really want to finish it.4) my wrists hurt from trying to fish out the last bits of food, I give up.If you're out to feed "the 'gram", sure go grab your clout points, but if you'd like to also feed your stomach, save your time, money, and wrists for a restaurant that isn't offensively mediocre.

Food and drink were great.Ordered bluefin tuna sushi and the season special yuzu alcohol beverage. The sushi rice was sweet with a slight vinegar after taste that was complimented with a minced, raw, fatty tuna on the top. Sauced on-top was irresistible, like a teriyaki sauce but lighter. Then garnish with green onion tying it together. The yuzu beverage paired well with it, strong citric taste that paired well with the gin/mint.Service was excellent. My friends and I were taken care of nicely and the staff walked us to the door/held it open for us politely. Drinks and food was prepared reasonably fast. The atmosphere was very enticing with a 1980s feel inside. Lots of paintings, pictures, architecture and figures all around to catch the eye and talk about if you know the references. My favorite eye piece was the wall behind the bar.Over all it's a great place for shari g food and drinks while socializing or a high cost date.A half order of sushi (3pcs) and my drink + 15% tip cost around $31.Would go back to try other dishes and friends to split the cost.Wheelchair accessibility: It's a bit packed, but with plenty of notice beforehand it shouldn't be difficult to provide access. They also seem to expand services to their outside patio.

Wonderful food, wonderful service! Essence of what I enjoy in a Japanese restaurant.I will return to explore the menu further. A really fun atmosphere.(Note to fellow counter patron, who disrespected the food by bathing beforehand in a cologne reminiscent of insecticide: Don’t!)

We managed to get into this restaurant during dinner time on a weekday without reservations but it was a full house. Reservations recommended. Seating at the bar was actually very good; fast and attentive service. We also saw all the chefs meal prep in front of us. The food was very fresh tasting. Portions are not the biggest but would recommend trying the crispened duck!
