We decided if a local recommends it we had better try it, however we forgot to make reservations and found ourselves in a predicament. We ended up going on our last night in town (a Friday) and hoping to get in at the first come first serve bar which has 10 seats. Unfortunately the bar was full when we got there at 5:45 but we were able to put our name on the wait list for a party of 4. The rest of the restaurant was all folks who had made prior reservations, which are available up to 30 days in advance.
I’m so thrilled to report we were able to secure bar seating for 4 around 6:20 and we were definitely not disappointed. The server Eric and bar tender Barry were both great and made our experience enjoyable socially, and the food was incredible. Definitely fine flavors and unique options that you don’t really see other places. They have an extensive wine list and some fun cocktails as well as beer options and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. We got the AGLIO ARROSTO e GORGONZOLA as a starter which all four of us thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the MELANZANE al FORNO and the SPAGHETTI al FUOCO both of which were exquisite. The flavors in both dishes sparkled and I can’t wait to go back and eat there again the next time I’m in Victoria. If you’re looking to go I definitely recommend reservations if you want to ensure you get a spot.”

Restaurant is large - it has great ambience, the layout provides a personal and intimate feeling despite there being many tables. The food is superb, we plan on returning to make our way through the great menu. It is the best place we have eaten at in Canada for food, service and ambience. We highly recommend the seafood tower as a way to taste through some of the menu. The grilled octopus rivalled what we have eaten in Italy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. The wine list is extensive and expertly curated.”

We had a dish that we loved last year that involved corn and when the owner found out that we were in the restaurant he made a special course just for us which was DELICIOUS! We are used to tasting menus and the length between courses but our service was just a bit off with large pauses in between certain courses. The staff being busy weren't able to check in as often as we would have liked but it is still one of our favourites and we will definitely return again next September if not before.”

We were treated to the owners daughter that kept checking in on us and had a great conversation and heard some background of the development of this new idea from the owners as we have always been fans of Sizzling Tandoori.
We ordered 4 dishes to share and they were all incredible. My personal favorites was the gnocchi dish and the torkhi chaat dish???? we will definitely be back and highly recommend trying this place out!

The staff were friendly and brought our food out in reasonable time. The food was pretty tasty! I would’ve loved to see some breakfast items that include eggs. I bet they’d make a killer breakfast sandwich.
The store hours are decent. Not open super early but early enough. Not open Mondays.

We're originally from Ontario, and stepping into Bunnie's, it was a quality cafe experience without any of the pretentiousness downtown. Just make sure you have some time to kill because once you get to the cafe, you won't want to leave, and they do close early.”

“came here on a sunday around 6 and was able to get a seat at the bar! really enjoyed the atmosphere and choice of music. right away our servers were very kind and personable! everything on the menu sounded amazing so it was really hard to make a choice!! we started with a pickled egg cuz i had never had one before.. enjoyed it! we got the smoked salmon belly and let me tell u.. it is absolutely amazing to experience the taste of smoked salmon with the soft texture of belly.... and the sauce on it was amazing as well. we the. got a noodle dosh, which i of course forgot the name of and forgot to tale a picture of because it was so good we had to eat it right away!! its sort of like a ramen, and the broth was addicting.. a liiitle spicy, and loved how they used dashi in it. the noodles were a great texture too. definitely get the noodle dish if u have the chance. i also forgot the exact details of our last dish, but it featured leeks and was just amazing.
i also got the country sleaze cocktail which was really tasty and refreshing!
overall an incredible experience, definitely check this place out when ur in victoria. it was absolutely incredible and i cant wait to go back!!

“Had the most divine time celebrating our first holiday party at the Courtney Room. I've never been to this restaurant, but I will say, I WILL be returning ??? it was the most satisfying meal I've had in a while.
To start, I had the kale ceaser salad, the cod for my main, and for dessert, I had the olive oil chocolate cake! All was extraordinary! I ordered a meal plus extra Lumpia. the meal was pretty small for the 1 item plus noodles, which I got pancit bihon. The pancit was very runny which I have never experienced before, and it did not have much flavour and not good however the Lumpia was delicious. I wouldn't recommend the pancit bihon but I do recommend the Lumpia, so delicious.”

The house sitter let us know and we were able to talk to the manager and since the employee was on the way, we were able to meet him and retrieve the case. High praise to the staff! Thanks!”

I prefer their original phó, as the spicy option masks some of the nuances of the broth, and I'd be delighted to just drink this broth from a mug.
