I was placing a pick up order through the 328 Taphouse website and it was automatically adding a tip to my order. It was for 2 items and it was adding an $10+ tip that I could not remove. I understand tipping goes to the staff and is appreciated, but I will tip if I want to and I don’t appreciate being forced to (especially since there is minimal service being provided, as I’m ordering through a website and picking up myself). I don’t know if this is a Friday night specific thing because they are busy or what but definitely won’t be ordering from here again if this is not changed.

Disappointed an automatic tip gets added for a pick up order online….. Two burgers and automatically adds an $11 tip you cant adjust. Sorry but I’m not tipping when there is technically no service being provided. Other restaurants in the area don’t expect a tip to pick up food so why should this place. Won’t be ordering pick up again and not motivated to go in for dinner again after this. Other than that atmosphere is great, food is typically great but dissatisfied with this tipping requirement for zero service other than handing me a card machine to pay.

I actually have NO idea if the food is any good here and here's why: I'll never try it. Why? I'm a delivery driver and have been for several years. This is the ONLY place that treats me like I'm some sub human and not worth bothering with. The staff is super rude to me on absolutely every visit and I feel like a ghost just standing there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. It's literally the only place like it, and I deliver for A LOT of restaurants! Often times I can see my order just sitting there, getting cold and guess what? I get utterly ignored even though the place is dead qiuet. I'm just trying to do my job just like you. You think I'm going to spend my money there? Think again.

Nice place, full of smiling staff. The food was amazing. The seafood linguine and mushroom ravioli, to die for.

I went into this restaurant with 3 of us on a Saturday evening around 530pm. The place was only about 30% full the entire time that we were there, with lots of empty tables nearby. After ordering a round of waters and drinks, it was about 15 minutes before we received anything to the table. I would understand if the place was busy, but it was fairly dead inside. For food, in the past I have ordered the black and blue pizza, which has always been great! Myself and my friend both ordered the black and blue pizza, however we each got different toppings? The pizzas were generally the same, but mine did not have a balsamic glaze or blue cheese. Overall the pizzas were cooked well, but very bland in comparison to the pizza I have had before. After getting our bill, we were told the waitress would be right back with the payment machine. Again, the place was essentially empty and we waited over 10 minutes for her to return with the machine.Overall it was a disappointing experience. I feel bad to write a negative review for a place that I'm sure is trying their best, but something needs to change.

Despite very few patrons when my family and I visited for lunch, the service was excruciatingly slow. I asked the waitress to expedite the meal as we had a ferry to catch. She said it’d take 15 minutes & it was closer to 35. She was inattentive & lacked friendliness. We ordered two pizzas & a sandwich. The food was bland, pricey & definitely not worth the unreasonably long wait. Last time I came here a couple years ago, it was more like a great Earls vibe; this time it was a ghost town with subpar service & forgettable food.

The wait staff was lovely but 8/10 of the dishes my family ordered were cold. Even if it was hot the food wouldn’t have been worth what they are charging.

Good news: good service, good beer (Tofino Kelp does not taste like Kelp!), excellent French onion soup. Bad news: 50/50 burger was a lump of disgusting cancerous charcoal, that I wish I’d sent back, but I was so engrossed visiting with friends and hungry that I just choked it down. It also appeared smaller than the kids’ burger my friend had, but maybe that was because most of it had been burned off. Flourless chocolate cake was good, but very rich so ideal to share. Since the main entree was terrible, I don’t think I’ll go back. Disappointing, as we really need good non-franchise eateries in Colwood
