Atlanta's pizza scene goes far beyond the usual chains. Check out these five pizzerias for some of the best pies in town. Each of these spots has earned its reputation for serving quality pizza that stands out in flavor and preparation. Whether you’re seeking a simple, classic pie or something with a creative spin, these pizzerias deliver memorable pizzas that keep locals and visitors coming back.
1. O4W Pizza
Don't let the name fool you, O4W Pizza is now located in downtown Duluth. Anthony Spina, the owner and pizza maker, focuses on creating his signature New Jersey-style pizza. His favorite pizza is the grandma pie, a 16-inch square topped with homemade marinara, mozzarella, pecorino, and olive oil. But he also makes a fantastic Detroit pizza. It's best to go with a few friends and order one of each.

2. Plant-Based Pizzeria
Vegan pizza is actually delicious and Plant Based Pizzeria has gotten a lot of attention, and rightfully so. Popular toppings include the Hawaiian with barbecue drizzle, vegan mozzarella cheese, pineapples, and Beyond sausage. The menu also features "burgers," calzones, and flatbreads. Pizzas can be made gluten-free by ordering a cauliflower crust (for an additional charge).
3. Slim & Husky's Pizza
The fast-casual pizza concept debuted in Nashville and has since expanded to two locations in Atlanta. Three childhood friends own the Slim & Husky's Pizza Beeria, which serves pizzas with names inspired by 1990s hip-hop. The Cee No Green, for example, consists of red sauce, cheeses, ground beef, pepperoni, hickory smoked bacon, Canadian bacon, and Italian sausage. Choose between the "slim" (10-inch) and "husky" (16-inch) pizza sizes. And, in case you were wondering, they do serve cinnamon rolls with a variety of cream cheese flavors.
4. Savage Pizza
Savage Pizza has been a staple of Atlanta's pizza scene for many years. If you're nearby, they offer delivery, or you can get takeout and eat wherever you want. One of their most popular dishes is the Cajun pizza, which is topped with spicy red pepper sauce, roasted chicken, shrimp, andouille sausage, peppers, onions, and a gruyere and mozzarella cheese blend.

If you are looking for high quality New York-style pizza, you will have to visit Dunwoody to find it. Piccola was opened by Wilton Vinas in January and it quickly gained a reputation for its delicious thin and chewy crust. Popular choices at this restaurant are the eggplant parmesan and white pizzas, but you can never go wrong with a classic pepperoni pizza either.
