Waffle House Launches Nationwide Delivery for the First Time

Waffle House is finally delivering. The iconic 24/7 diner chain has partnered with DoorDash to bring its comfort food to customers' doorsteps across all 2,000-plus locations for the first time in its 70-year history.

 

The move makes Waffle House one of the last major restaurant brands in America to embrace delivery. Customers can now order through Waffle House's website or mobile app, with DoorDash drivers handling fulfillment. Select locations in Atlanta, Charleston, Cincinnati, Columbus, Nashville, and New Orleans will even offer round-the-clock delivery directly through the DoorDash app.

"At Waffle House, we've built our brand on consistency, hospitality, and being there for our customers, day or night," said Patrick Marshburn, executive VP at Waffle House. "Partnering with DoorDash allows us to extend that same dependable experience beyond our restaurant walls, making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy the Waffle House comfort they love, from the comfort of their home."

 

The delivery rollout caps a rapid digital transformation for the Norcross, Georgia-based chain. In late 2023, Waffle House added online ordering through Olo - its first major digital investment. The company launched its mobile app the following year and saw an overall revenue boost of 1.6% from these digital tools, according to an Olo case study. Today, about 36% of Waffle House's online revenue comes from personalized recommendations.

 

Since the pandemic, third-party delivery has become essential for restaurants. Even traditional holdouts like Domino's and Olive Garden have reported significant sales growth after adding delivery options. Domino's expects its third-party delivery to become a $1 billion business, while Olive Garden saw off-premise sales jump nearly 20% after expanding delivery.

For DoorDash, it's another win for its white-labeled delivery service, which recently landed McDonald's as a partner for web-based ordering.
