First time eating here. Sunday night for dinner. Restaurant was full and as they called our name, they asked if we were ok to be seated at the bar area instead of a table or else we would have to wait more. We opted to be seated at the bar. My partner got the chicken teriyaki entree (salad and miso soup were given prior); large portion of chicken. I ordered sushi. Super fresh and tasty. Looking forward to coming back for more!

TL;DR - Excellent selection of quality fish.Hashi Gawa is a very good "middle-tier" sushi restaurant. They don't serve mediocre sashimi and huge sushi rolls like lower-tier restaurants that cater to the masses. And they don't provide a fine dining omakase experience. What you will get is excellent fish in a casual setting with reasonable prices. We came on a Saturday as soon as they opened to ensure us a table. My wife and I ordered their "Omakase" 10-piece special. Please note that it's not a true omakase experience. It is 10 nigri pieces (sashimi option also available) served all at once. The kind waitress provided all the types of fish, but it was hard to remember the order so I wasn't sure which piece was which towards the end. You will have a selection such as snapper, butterfish, salmon, salmon belly, otoro, chu-toro, ocean trout, scallop, amaebi, etc. We also ordered some extra single pieces to make sure we both had our favorites. One negative was each piece was glazed with a light soy sauce that I would have preferred not to have. The sauce masked the taste of the fish. Next time I'll ask if they can hold the sauce.Overall, I was very happy with our meal. I will go back for sure.

This place is unnecessarily expensive, and the food quality and the service does not show for it. It's not genuine Japanese owned nor Korean. It's run by Chinese. The waitress is young and doesn't really know how to service people and is off putting. She never smiles and is very quick on words and runs away. It's too bad bc it's very close to my house..

A very solid place for sushi! We visited on a Tuesday night and found the restaurant was quite busy for a weekday. I would definitely recommend coming earlier to avoid a wait since the restaurant itself is not very large. While the sushi was amazing, some of their appetizers were a miss like the soft shelled crab (was not fried well and slightly soggy) but the hamachi collar was amazing. As for the fish quality, we had no complaints of the cuts of fish in the omakase and Kaisen don. Both selections were plentiful for the price but the Kaisen don has an incredible amount of fish for the price. Everything was super fresh and the flavors in the omakase were on point.Another interesting thing is that they use a different kind of rice for their sushi rice. It seems similar to a brown or even purple rice, which was peculiar but still delicious nonetheless! The staff were also incredibly kind and helpful as we visited to celebrate a friend's birthday. Highly recommend to visit if you're in the area.

Whenever I'm in the area I think of this place. Mainly for easy parking. It's been a year since my first time.Service has always been friendly. At night it gets pretty crowded at night and the restaurant is kind of small. Our food came out rather quickly. Fish was good and fresh but not very "exciting." For the value it is very good. $52 for the omakase and $39 for the Hashi Kaisen don. Can't go wrong with either. Overall, solid place for a casual meal.

Located in the corner close to pet food express hides Hashi gawa. The store is quaint and clean. I ordered togo on a Sunday night and my order was quickly ready in 15 mins. Staff are super friendly even when the restaurant was packed at 7PM on a Sunday night. I ordered the Hashi deluxe combo with a california Roll and a bluefin lover roll. The food was fresh and satisfying. The combo also comes with a soup and salad that is not pictured. Quick note: they use brown rice for their rolls.

Quality still holds! They adjusted the size of the tuna handroll so I was really happy with that. I ordered the Saba and uni and they were a delight. Service was top notch, I was impressed. Ambiance stayed the same, it got more popular so it was a bit louder. Hopefully they have plans to expand but if not, that is ok. Really great this time around, looking forward to come back and see if I will be surprised again.

Would be 5 stars if they used high quality sushi rice with their rolls and nigiri. Sushi rice should have a little bit of rice vinegar, sake and sugar in it.

I can't believe I just discovered this place! Tables were full but the wait wasn't bad and totally worth it. The seafood was incredibly fresh. Bright flavors and thoughtful textures. Staff here was on top of it and as the dishes were rolling in as we ate. We loved the squid app and nigiri. We are excited to return and try more of the menu!

Probably one of my favorite sushi spots in the east bay! My friend and I made a reservation ahead of time for 2 on a Friday evening so we were seated right away when we got to the restaurant. Parking was easy since it's in a small plaza. Service was quick and efficient as well. Menus are on a QR code and then someone comes by to take your order. I do recommend making a reservation as the place does get pretty crowded. We got a few of their rolls which my friend and I genuinely enjoyed. We got Lion King, Golden CA Roll, and Niners roll (?). I am not too sure on the name for the third roll we got, but we both enjoyed the flavors of each one. We actually got full and had to take one of the rolls to-go. The pricing of each roll was also well-priced compared to other sushi places that I have been to. I definitely want to try their omakase one of these days as I heard many good things about it. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Amazing food! We were a party of three and waited about ten minutes for a table on a Saturday afternoon. We got the omakase sashimi, omakase nigiri, kaisen don, plus a few pieces of other fish. Sooo delicious! Great quality and presentation! The service was awesome and food came pretty quick. We all really loved the toro (and everything else we got really!). I would definitely come back here!
