This coffee shop has been my go-to for quality coffee and tea drinks. My usual orders include oat milk latte, almond milk matcha latte, and chai latte with almond milk. Their espresso is smooth and not bitter. You can get your matcha less sweet or unsweetened. I usually order it half sweetened if I want it a bit sweetened. My daughter's preschool was on Park St, which made it easy to pick up breakfast at Highwire on the walk back after dropping her off. Now that she's in kindergarten I don't have the easy excuse to drop by as often, but still try to make it when I can. Even with coming by much less frequently the staff still remember my name, which I find amazing given how bad I am at names, and the service is always friendly and prompt even when they're busy. Really enjoying going to this local coffee shop in Alameda. The staff are the main factor as to why I choose Highwire Coffee. They are super friendly and welcoming. The only down side is I tend to always show up for a bag of coffee when they are out. I personally prefer light roast coffee which they have and recently learned that they get their shipment of coffee bags on Tuesday around 1pm (fyi).
