This place never disappoints. They serve fresh food for reasonable pricing, there no long wait even when they are full.

New Cantonese restaurant on main drag in Alhambra. Right next to a crab restaurant

The food here was pretty great, especially the prime beef dish that we ordered! Waiters are pretty attentive, although compared to some of the other Chinese places around here, I felt like these guys had a lower level of English. Sometimes a waiter would bring a dish over, but wasn't sure if it was our dish and neither did we, because we couldn't understand what the name of the dish was. So hopefully you have a friend or two that can translate, otherwise there might be some miscommunication.

For a solidly executed Sichuan meal, swim no further than Mr Fish. (Ah, cringe-worthy puns...) THE FOOD Fresh chili pepper with beef: This was a standout dish. The flavor of the sauce was so well-rounded and paired extremely well with a hot bowl of rice. The paper-thin slices of beef were soft, tender, and fatty (not to mention plentiful). Rated as a two-chili dish, this had a noticeable kick but was totally manageable for anyone used to a little spice in their food. Stir fried pig intestine: If you're a fan of pig intestine, then you'll most likely enjoy Mr Fish's rendition. Soft with a slight crisp, savory, and fried with slices of celery. Steam short ribs: Meat covered in glutinous sticky rice. Tell me that doesn't sound downright delicious! This isn't a dish that you see on offer very often, and Mr Fish happens to do a pretty good job making it. The rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the meat was pretty tender. Dan-dan noodles: The noodle texture was good, but the sauce was a little lacking. Chalk this up to personal preference, as I tend to enjoy this dish with a creamier sauce. Bean jelly: We got this appetizer as a freebie with a check-in and a minimum purchase of $50. The flavor was good; the texture wasn't quite as smooth as I'd have liked. This one was rated as a three-chili dish, and while it was definitely the spiciest out of all of the dishes, it still wasn't that spicy. Rice: They do not skimp on the rice here. Decent quality and cooked fairly well (no burnt spots, mushiness, etc.). Water: Just a note, they use those plastic Coca-Cola cups for the water. Those tend to hold onto flavors through washes, so I'd recommend sticking with the hot tea. If anyone at the restaurant actually pays attention to this review, please switch to glass cups. THE INTERIOR It's quite spacious in here with plenty of room to move about. It looks like a traditional restaurant that's taken a few steps to become more modern but hasn't really nailed it yet. THE SERVICE I'd say slightly above average (or at least above my expectations). The servers were very nice and patient. OVERALL I'd drive back here again for the food. The beef dish in particular was totally worth the trek from Orange County. Now, you'd think that I'd have ordered a fish dish given the name of the restaurant, but I guess that will just have to wait until our next visit.

The food was good, seemed extremely authentic. It was a bit slow, but a late lunch hip group came in. Not my genre, really, not a lot on the menu I could relate to.

Chengdu native and I endorse :). Definitely authentic Chengdu dishes. Take Dan Dan noodle for example, most Sichuan restaurant will make it really spicy but real Dan Dan noodle in Chengdu is more meaty flavor. Had spicy pork feet which had cumin in it as a nice touch. Appetizer were pretty tasty too. Would have to come back to try more!

Amazing place with fresh ingredients, great service, and some of the best Szechuan food I've had in SoCal!!! Can get pretty spicy but seriously every dish I tried here was 5/5! Can't go wrong here.

There's been a bunch of Szechuan places opening up in 626/San Gabriel Valley and these places can definitely be a hit or miss. Since Mr.Fish opened up not too long ago next to the infamous Boiling Crab, I finally got the chance to try it today since BC wasn't open for lunch and I was craving something spicy! I came here with my wedding caterer to try out this place. Upon arrival on a Wednesday afternoon at 1:45pm, there was only one other pair dining in the entire place. Was this a bad sign? I had no idea, so we got to ordering the food since we're here already. We ordered toothpick lamb, stir-fry beef in chili broth, chili pepper with kidney, and spicy pig feet. A pot of hot tea was given and a side dish of chili-marinated seaweed which was delicious to start off our meal. The dishes came out one by one and each did not disappoint. They were not filled with the intensely numbing peppercorns that make you feel like your mouth disappeared nor did they make you sweat so much you just want to run into a freezer. The chili, seasonings, herbs, and meat they used were really well balanced that made the meal just memorable. The last dish that came out was the spicy pig feet which, for anyone that likes pig feet, knows that it takes a long time to make them tender and soft. I was expecting to bite into tough skin or thick and hard meat but it really surprised me when it was super tender, juicy, and had an amazing amount of sauce and texture (the temperature was also super hot so I had to put it down after a bite!) Service wise, the waiter was really nice and informative about the dishes. My caterer, an older and very experienced chef, really loved the food as well! I would definitely come back whenever I'm craving spicy foods again and be sure to share with my friends and family about this new place!

You can see the kitchen on the tv monitor while you are eating. The steamed pork rib is very good. And so is the steamed egg with clam is very tasty.

Omg, this is the most traditional sichuan food I've tried in LA. Loveeeee spicy food and these are really good!

Service was great, and it's as safe a place as any (read: not scary) to take someone for their very first "ma la" meal. There's even a monitor so you can watch the chefs stir-frying up your food (presumably this is also to prove the kitchen is clean??). We happily walked past the throngs of people waiting for Boiling Crab and had a nice Sichuan style dinner here.

Great service and they delivered the food in good time. Spicy Boiled fish was incredible along with the eggplant and twice cook pork. We eat at many of the Sichuan restaurants and this one did not disappoint!
