The food here was pretty great, especially the prime beef dish that we ordered! Waiters are pretty attentive, although compared to some of the other Chinese places around here, I felt like these guys had a lower level of English. Sometimes a waiter would bring a dish over, but wasn't sure if it was our dish and neither did we, because we couldn't understand what the name of the dish was. So hopefully you have a friend or two that can translate, otherwise there might be some miscommunication.
For a solidly executed Sichuan meal, swim no further than Mr Fish. (Ah, cringe-worthy puns...) THE FOOD Fresh chili pepper with beef: This was a standout dish. The flavor of the sauce was so well-rounded and paired extremely well with a hot bowl of rice. The paper-thin slices of beef were soft, tender, and fatty (not to mention plentiful). Chengdu native and I endorse :). Definitely authentic Chengdu dishes. Take Dan Dan noodle for example, most Sichuan restaurant will make it really spicy but real Dan Dan noodle in Chengdu is more meaty flavor. Had spicy pork feet which had cumin in it as a nice touch. Appetizer were pretty tasty too. Would have to come back to try more!
