The fried yellow throat is highly recommended. The boiled beef is also very good. The pepper fish is okay. The roast duck has a lot of ingredients. Friends who like spicy food can give it a try, but it doesn’t require a big table.

Could have been 4 stars but docked off points because they don't speak English... they need to be more inclusive and hire bilingual staff. Even just 1 bilingual staff would suffice. This is Alhambra not China, and LA let alone CA let alone the US is the most (linguistically, racially, ethnically) diverse place in the world... you can't escape it here. Trying to do so will only make it harder and more uncomfortable for yourselves. To make it easier, employ a bilingual staff that is customer facing and in the meantime slowly learn English yourselves, prioritizing content that is on your menu, common customer facing vocabulary, common phone inquiries and orders, etc. It won't happen overnight, but it'll get easier once you start and as you go... For the business, please know that my criticism does not come from a malicious place, this is said in good faith because it will be essential for your adaptability and survival in the long run... and I want to see your business continue to thrive and grow. Sichuanese food is my favorite Chinese cuisine and it's so underrated imo. Represent sichuanese cuisine and culture proudly to the outside world. But you can't do that if you can't communicate it to them. Show the world that there is more than Cantonese dim sum and roast duck, Taiwanese hotpot and noodles, panda express, chow mein and orange chicken, etc. Sichuanese food is the soul food of China. The only thing you should be resisting and never change where I would condone your stubbornness is keeping the peppery, fiery, spicy peppercorn flare of sichuanese cuisine... that is an essential and can never be changed no matter what. But speaking English shouldn't be one of those sore points. That said, the food was great. Authentic. Better than Szechuan Delicious imo. Aside from the non-English, they did the best they could service-wise, vibe is very casual - nothing special about interior. Located near several other restaurants, a bakery, etc. Parking is easy and convenient.

Food was AWESOME. My table ordered the ChengDu Spicy Boiled Roast Duck, Salted Egg Yolk with Corn (this was bomb), Stir Fry Bamboo Shoot, and one other spicy item that I can’t recall. The portions were GREAT for the pricing, more than enough for 4 people to eat with some leftover for the next day. Service is what you’d expect for a small restaurant that’s packed to the brim; we had to flag down the sole waiter (bless his soul, you could tell the man was overworked with no backup) each time we needed something, but eventually he did get whatever we needed to us. The restaurant itself is pretty small, and turnover on the tables can be a bit slow, which in turn makes it a bit of a lengthy wait to get seated. I saw a lot of takeout orders going out the door while waiting too, and with the great food, I could see why the wait is what it is. Will definitely come again, but probably not during the weekend/ dinner rushes.

There are many Szechuan places in SGV, but for a restaurant where you want variety and you want an assortment of tofu, potato, veggies, meat, this is definitely the place to go to. I do think that everything here is pretty heavy and there is a large amount of fat in a lot of the meat dishes, but if you can see past that, it's about 7-8/10 for me. If I would want Szechuan, this would be my go-to place.

Best Chongqing spicy diced chicken, pan fried pork kidney and duck blood we have in recent years. The lady who served us was very kind to offer help when I packed the leftovers. Go right at the time the restaurant opens so you don't have to wait long. It's a very popular restaurant.

Very authentic Szechuan food, especially for those who loves spicy food! I just wish the store is bigger and can host more people. Every time when I went there, the line is long.

The food was very tasty and the service was fine. We ran into this restaurant by accident but we are looking forward to coming back.

Looking for authentic Sichuan Food? Look no longer. This IS the place. The only downside to this restaurant is how small it is. They take reservations, so definitely give them a call beforehand or you'll catch yourself waiting a looong time. Parking can be a teeny bit difficult since the plaza parking is shared amongst many stores. Service is attentive, but you have to be on top of it since it can get really busy. The food is on par to what I've had in China. The Mala Frog and Chengdu Spicy Duck are must orders. They are the stars of the show, and the presentation is also Instagram worthy. Very flavorful, spicy, etc (trust me and just order these 2 dishes at the very least). We also ordered the Spicy Fish Stomach, Mama Style Rice, House Special Cabbage, and a Fresh Chili with Ginger Black Fish Fillet. A few items on their menu, especially for foreigners, are a little hard to stomach, being frog, fish stomach, and intestines. But everything is worth a try. They are all very authentic dishes. They are also all very spicy, so this place definitely not for non spice tolerant people. The fish stomach is spicy, chewy, and a little crunchy; the Mama Style Rice is a good order since it re-calibrates your taste buds away from the spicy. The Cabbage is a sweet and salty stir fry, and while it could be something you could make at home, it just tastes better here. The fish fillet is very authentic, with the thinly sliced fish and plethora of spices. The portions, while they appear big in photos and presentation, are actually pretty small. The dishes are shallow, there is a little too much veggies compared to meats, and they pile the meat on top so there's virtually nothing but veggies and spices underneath. Don't get me started on charging $5 for a plate of noodles to add to dip in the spicy sauce. HOWEVER, if you can stomach the smaller, deceiving portions, the price premium for extremely authentic Sichuan cuisine has value written all over it! While Sichuan cuisine has its price premiums by being so popular, this restaurant definitely comes out ahead of the pack. It's my new go to Sichuan place in the whole of LA.

The food here makes me feel so lucky to be a local. The fish dish and chicken gizzard dish we ordered looked flaming red, and very tasty. I only look at the red chilis and eat the meats. Beautiful plating also. So memorable. Definitely going back to try more dishes.

1. Chengdu Spicy Boiled Roast Duck - 10 2. Baked Frog Spicy Mala Style - 7 3. House Special Stir Fry Cabbage - 9 Szechuan Spicy Bay is an authentic Szechuan restaurant located in Alhambra with affordable and very reasonable prices. The portions are huge (idk if you can tell from the picture just how ginormous that bowl is, but it is BIG), and the quality of the meat is there. The duck was very juicy and tender, and the frog (it was my first time having frog) was tender but kind of hard to eat due to the bones. One thing I really enjoyed was the wide glass noodles soaking in the spicy broth. I was pleasantly surprised by the cabbage. Usually those dishes kind of all taste the same, but they did something special with this dish which I enjoyed very much. The service is just what you would expect from a busy Chinese restaurant, but it's fine since I think the food is so worth it for the price. You know the food is authentic when they give you the paper placemats with James Wang, JD, CPA on it LOL. Would definitely recommend and return, but the wait was quite long. We had to wait like 30 minutes on a Saturday at 5:40 for a party of 4.

Chengdu spicy boiled roast duck in a super-sized basin, with roasted duck, luncheon meat, duck blood, cow throat, beef tripe, thousand-layer tofu, wide noodles, cauliflower, seaweed knots, bean sprouts, wood ear fungus, and cucumber. Really love the crispy texture of the fish stomach – it's not fishy at all, especially satisfying with rice. The stir-fried cabbage is cooked to perfection. We will definitely come back for more!!???
