It's a small joint that looks family owned from the outside. At first look, the menu seems overwhelming but it's actually just the toppings/choices of meat you can put into the item that you want and the prices are included! The service was exceptional. The woman was very respectful to all guests in both Spanish and English, even over the phone, and incredibly quick to clear a line. It kind of reminds me of my mom. She was very clear in explaining how taco Tuesday works to me as well as how pricing is different for certain types of meats in different entrees. They DO have taco Tuesday specials for tacos! It's only catered to tacos hence the name taco Tuesday, so other entrees like burritos or tortas do not get this benefit. Now let's get into the food. I ordered 3 tacos - asada, carnita, and al pastor. I was asked if I wanted "everything" on it - these would be onions and cilantro, and of course we go with the YES. You can also get green or red salsa, tapatio, and lime with your tacos. I went with green salsa and lime. My impression is oh yeah it's good. It's all good. Oh yeah.

A local favorite for us. She likes the Chili Verde burritos but I like the Huevos Rancheros, however the eggs are sometimes overcooked. Still a great dish.

If you want to wait 40min for a burrito then this is the place.. I called in for a burrito they said 10 min. I get there and still had to wait 30min.. and if that wasn't enough the meat was dry and tasteless. Looked like day old meat. Would not recommend this place..

Food was decent, the employees were all nice and our food was out quickly. Went about an hour before closing and there was a few sketchy people hanging around outside due to the bar next door. Overall, wouldn't be my first choice but if everywhere else was closed i would eat here again

I used to love this place but the quality has deteriorated. The tripas tacos are horrible. The tripas themselves are burned so bad that you can't even taste them. So disappointed
Really good and clean menudo. You can order ahead and the food is always fresh. Definitely recommend.

I've been going to Escalante based on a student of mine who highly recommended this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised being greet by this nice friendly professional gentleman. I truly enjoy the family atmosphere and their food is excellent. I had the shrimp soup and it was delicious! It came in a big bowl with loads of big shrimps. I've never been disappointed of the good quality food that they bring to my table. If you're craving for authentic Mexican cuisine, you need to come to Escalante on north State College Blvd, Anaheim. This place doesn't look like much but they have some solid food. Usually when I'm feeling lazy to pack a lunch this is my go to spot since it's close to work and only have 30 mins for lunch.They are quick and I belive the prices are fair. Saturday mornings is probably when they are the busiest so I recommend placing a phone order if you're in a rush. I have never had a bad meal here and the menudo is surprisingly good, better than most places in the area.
