This place closed down. We went about 2 weeks ago and they told us it was their last day. Which I guess excused them for the terrible food, no real dishes or utensils. They gave my husband piping hot soup in a plastic to go container.. I guess they want their guests to get cancer or something. The guy was apologetic and said the reason being was because it was their last day. So are they still in business or not?

Don't know how Joy Kitchen has such great reviews, unfortunately, the food here did not bring us any joy :( The restaurant looks very cute, but that's pretty much all it has going for it. First of all, the service was terrible. There was just one server, and he did not even acknowledge us at all. He didn't come by to refill our water (and even forgot to give us water initially). We waited forever for our food to be served, and when it arrived, it was all in plastic containers as if we ordered to-go. I understand hygiene concerns due to COVID, but it has been over 2 years now that I feel all the plastic is just lazy and wasteful. The food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the hotpot, and the veggies they gave with the dish were Iceberg lettuce (which was soooo weird for hot pot) and cauliflower... The broth was incredibly salty that I could not even finish my food. It was definitely overpriced for something that I felt I could do a better job making myself at home. I definitely won't be stopping by here again.

Great drinks, less sweet than other places :). They come with boba already!

Airplane quality food like frozen food they just heated it. And in recycle plate and bowls. I don’t even want to take a picture. Avoid this place.

L.A. traffic is no joke. I often hear that when you want to meet someone in L.A. expect them to always be late. As my companion and I arrived here I thought the place was closed. I check my Yelp app and it says it should be open. I knocked and called, no answer. Then I walk around the back and noticed a nice lady preparing stuff in the kitchen. She happily lets us in and apologizes. As she sets down the menus she asked what I like to eat. I happily conversed with her in Cantonese. I was in the mood for congee and noodles but she said, we don't have that today. Instead she recommended their Joy Beef Curry and Braised Pork Belly. Let me tell you, that Joy Beef Curry blew me away. The buttery, flaky crust was outstanding. I could taste coconut in the curry sauce and it had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef was so tender. I even poured some of that sauce onto the white rice. There was a salad on the side. Pammy does not do salads. But since I haven't eaten greens for a couple of days, I ate it. My companion loves pork belly but he was more into the beef curry. All food and drinks are served on paper plates due to the pandemic. As we finished up our meal, the lady waves to me from afar and asks how the food was. I gave her big two thumbs up and I can tell that made her very happy. The guy finally arrived to work after we ordered. But my hats off to that lady that made sure we were taken care of.

The food is awful. The pepper pig stomach /chicken soup is nothing but msg soup with salt, not even with pepper flavor. The Sacha beef noodle is flavorless beef with msg soup + cup of sacha sauce from the can. The so called Singapore chicken rice was white rice with over cooked stale chicken from the fridge. I've never had such awful food for this premium price. Don't even look at any photos from Yelp, it's deceiving. I feel bad for giving a 1 star, but I'd feel worse if someone fell for these fake reviews of 5 stars.

I cant believe this place is still in business. 1st off when we walked in, there was no greeting at all and no one was eating there except one staff. We ordered 3 items for take out which costed us $77. I was looking forward to the Singaporean chicken rice but it was totally different from the pictures i saw on Yelp. i had a feeling that those who gave 5 stars were their friends. I have never seen a restaurant putting ginger sauce all over the chicken, i hate ginger so I didnt even try the chicken but my family said the chicken had no taste at all. They gave us white steamed rice instead of yellow oil chicken rice seen on Yelp!! I dont even want to waste my time writing about the other 2 dishes I got, it looked so bad I didnt eat at all.

The spicy wonton is super good. It's more tasty than Ding Tai Fung. The service is nice too. Love this place

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while now. Finally had a chance to stop by on a weekday afternoon for dinner. Foos here is ok, not great or bad, but service was definitely lackluster. There was only 1 staff member minding the restaurant. When we entered, he did not even greet us. We had to ask whether we can be seated to dine-in. After being seated, we noticed the table was disgusting. It had a layer of oil. I think they used an old, oily rag to wipe the table down (yuck). Finally, when we were ready to order, the waiter told us "they did not have most items." For example, under the appetizer menu, the only thing that was available was the pop cauliflower. The food was flavorful, but of poor quality. It's as-if the food was cooked elsewhere and they just re-heated it here (ie. Airplane quality food). Joy's Curry (3.5/5): Good puff pastry. Unfortunately, there's hardly any curry on the inside. The salad that comes on the side had a thick sauce plastered on top of it. Pop Cauliflower (3/5): A good idea to make cauliflower taste better, but the dish was too oily. Scallion Pancake (2/5): Their scallion pancake was very small. In my honest opinion, it lacked crisp and flavor. I'd say it's worse than what you can buy at the Asian Supermarket. Szechuan Fish (4/5): The fish was good, no fishy taste. The soup had good flavor, but was a bit too salty. When it came time to pay for our meal, I had to go up to the counter to pay, get the boxes and pack my leftovers myself. I was sadly not impressed with this place and will not be returning.

Good food and comfortable outdoor seating. The only thing that wasn't so nice was the use of plastic silverware and disposable plates, which seemed unneccessary and a waste of plastic.

This place has been on must try list for a while, but honestly, I was a bit hesitant going since I always worry about parking in this area. However, since my girlfriends were coming from out of the area, we tried it together and catty corner to the restaurant is a paid parking lot! ($0.50 per hour) So whew, my major concern was deviated. The line wasn't bad. Everyone was masked while ordering the food. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and the authentic Taiwanese food. Everything was very flavorful and not too sweet. The mochi was fresh, but boy did we over order. We were able to bring home the leftover, but very excited to come back to try the other menu items. Everything was reasonably priced. Can't wait to be back soon!!

My family and I were at the mall cruising and decided to give Joy Kitchen a try since we always walk past by and were curious about it. During Covid, it was closed for a while and noticed it was open when were there so we stopped to grab a late lunch. I did order this as a to go order. FOOD: Beef Curry: This dish was all around good! The curry had good flavor, the salad dressing was light and zesty, and the puff pastry was so tasty! The puff pastry covers the actual curry beef. I loved the puff pastry and curry in one bite. Shacha Beef Noodles: The shacha broth was very flavorful and more on the oily side. PRICE: The prices are on the higher end for Chinese food. For the 2 entrees, it was about $32 dollars. PARKING: There is plenty of parking at the Santa Anita Mall; parking structure and outside lot parking. Overall, it was good a good meal and know that'll it comes with a higher price point with the convenience of being at a mall location.

The restaurant seemed to lack a lot of the dishes (meaning not offering or didn't have most of the dishes on the menu). Hubby & I both ordered the Singaporean chicken. I've had better, but glad it wasn't salty. The scallion cake didn't look appealing, but to our surprise, it was pretty crunchy.

We stopped in this weekend for some boba. We tried their Rose Milk Tea and Osmanthus Milk Tea and both were delicious with nice floral notes. They also have a bogo 50% off deal which makes it a good price compared to other boba places.

Please avoid this restaurant!!! Look at the pic I posted. It's clearly that they did not clean up the chicken before cooking it! While we goes into the restaurant. There's only two tables and they were all served and just chatting. We ordered appetizer before main dish and my chicken with rice came up first. After that, another main dish. 15 mins after both main dishes, they finally served our appetizer. But guess what, we also ordered two drinks and they never show up with the drinks. I went to the counter and asked for the check. Our server give me the check and I mentioned we never got the drinks. He did give us a discount and he tried to make it up by offering the drinks will be ready in two minutes. Service was ok but please avoid this restaurant before going in.
