My wife and I absolutely love this place. Their Yakisoba is amazing and definitely always recommend it. Their rolls are really good too, their fried rice has a lot of flavor, and their green tea ice cream is really creamy and delicious.Vegetarian options: My wife is a vegetarian and she is obsessed with their vegetable Yakisoba.

Pretty meh. Not terrible but not amazing. For the price you could have a better meal elsewhere but is just very okay.

Menus are vague as can be, menu was printed on a blank piece of throw away paper. Hadn’t finished ordering and the menu was “snatched” out of my hand. After questioning about the “toro poke” I was met with a defensive response and nothing was really clarified. Waitresses were both awkward and unprofessional. Once we received some of the food we ordered (never received all of our food) we were greatly disappointed in portion size and freshness, preparedness. Waitress continued to walk by and put her hands on the mouth of my drink and touch our food. Took my girl here for date night and found myself apologizing continuously. First and last time eating @ “the best sushi spot in bako”

I've not met it's match for sushi or hospitality in Bakersfield. The food was excellent, top tier quality ingredients and plating. The price is more than fair.

I've passed by this place a few times without noticing it, which is a shame because it really is a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner. Their sushi and sashimi are all fresh and expertly prepared. Their miso soup is much better than I've had elsewhere. The decor is simple but elegant with a more upscale feel than many of the lunch spots downtown. I would have no problem taking any business lunch here. The truth is though, what I will really be coming back for is the food and the service. Both top notch.

I have been a big Toro fan since they were at Market place. This is the second time I'm visiting the L street location. Guess what? Omakase time!10 courses of chef's choice, best possible ingredients prepared with the utmost care.Course 1, sashimi. Toro was featured prominently. Every single cut was premium. Great start!Course 2, tuna tower. Thinly sliced, great sauce, sesame, sprouts. It was great, again.Course 3, sushi, again featuring the incredible toro. Wow.Course 4, oyster. 4 richly seasoned oyster with a surprise spicy kick, nice!Course 5, yellow tail, marinated, with hot pepper and sriracha. Yum!Course 6, bulgogi, rich, tender, sweet beef, just in case you are a big eater and don't get full on sushiCourse 7, hand roll of octopus, squid, clam, and eel. This is my favorite! Each one is a different delicious texture and flavor, mind blowing good.Course 8, raw shrimp with fried shrimp head. Fresh shrimp, sweet, soft, incredible. The fried shrimp head is crunchy and fragrant.Course 8, shrimp tempura!Course 9, two rolls with contrasting texture! Amazing!Course 10, ice cream!I am thoroughly impressed! What a treat!

EXCELLENT!!! The best sushi we've experienced in town!!! We started with edamame, and it was perfectly done. Then we had the best seaweed salad ever. It tops Montecito, LA, Santa Barbara! If you like seaweed salad, you won't be disappointed! We then had yellowtail nigiri and sweet shrimp - again, the best we've had! The rolls we chose were the traditional rainbow and then the spicy scallop roll. Both excellent. What we liked about Toro was not only the excellent service and fresh quality, but the wide selection of choices. It was refreshing that "spicy" wasn't added to every single roll, as it is just down the street. One wonders if they're trying to cover up the lack of freshness of the fish. Not at Toro. Everything was melt in your mouth fresh!!!The one complaint- and this won't be an issue to all, but if you're going to have a restaurant with this quality of sushi, then PLEASE offer a couple higher end wine choices. You're right next door to TLo!!! How great to be neighborly supporting the 18th Street resurgence, and have a white and a red for sale from your next door neighbor TLo!!!! Just sayin....Great ambiance, great parking, nice music. We'll be back!

TYPICALLY i enjoy coming here and it's my go to sushi spot, drinks are good, and atmosphere is good. BUT!!!! Tonight the food was bad to say the least the rice on the sushi was dry and hard, the roll wasn't completely closed so everytime I picked one up it fell apart, the shrimp tempura in my roll was hard and oily soggy like it was old or had been sitting there for a while. The spicy edamame did not look like they usually do and it was dry. The waitress felt like she was rushing. I don't think tip should be including for bad service and food. The atmosphere was good. ONLY REASON WE ATE IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS CRAVING SUSHI and If you ask why we didn't get it remade it's because there was too many people and it was going to take forever. It'll take a miracle to come back, I'll probably be going to Love Sushi or Jin Sushi for now on.
