“I’m back at this xiao long bao spot in Baldwin Park again! The restaurant has that super down-to-earth, old-school Chinese restaurant feel that instantly feels familiar. The main point is — they’ve been making xiao long bao in LA for years, and everything is still handmade by the aunties, not pre-made. If you want a giant crab roe soup dumpling, this is the place I think of!

The giant crab roe soup dumpling comes out steaming hot and is seriously huge — it almost fills the whole steamer 🤣. I like to slowly sip the soup through a straw first, then open it up and eat the rest. The crab roe flavor is rich and fragrant, and it’s so satisfying while it’s still hot. Even editing the video made me crave it again!

We also ordered crab roe xiao long bao and sweet-style pork xiao long bao. The wrappers are thin and there’s plenty of soup inside. The slightly sweet pork filling feels very Jiangnan-style, and I personally really like that little touch of sweetness.

The Wuxi-style pork ribs looked so appetizing too — tender meat with a sweet, savory sauce that goes perfectly with rice. The Liangxi crispy eel was another specialty I really liked. It’s crispy, fragrant, and super snackable — not something you see at every restaurant.

For something warm and comforting, we also had a bowl of five-spice beef rice noodles, with your choice of spicy or non-spicy, plus a plate of garlic pea shoots to round out the meal.

I also noticed they have these cute little training chopsticks 🥢, which are perfect for kids or anyone who’s still learning how to use chopsticks. Such a thoughtful touch haha.

“As soon as we came inside the restaurant, I was greeted with a friendly smile. We were seated right away and server took our order. My son was not ready, so I asked to place my order. I had the La Cosecha Breakfast, I was so hungry but no way I was able to eat all the food. The chilaquiles were amazing, not too spicy and not blend at all. The potatoes were delicious, the egg was perfect, the beans delicious as well, and the meat, i asked for it to me a little less cooked then medium and wow, it was delicious, melted in my mouth. My son ordered the Quesabirrias and also, very taste, very juicy and delicious. He didnt like the pickled onions so he took them off. I mean, beside anything, everything was delicious and the service was prompt and food came out fast. Server could have come asked us one how everything was tasting but she didn't, so thats why I rated 4 stars for the service. I am definitely coming back 😁😁”

“FRIDAY FOOD REVIEW...GOLDEN PANDA BUFFET (again)...5/30/25! We hadn't been to the Golden Panda Buffet, located at 1825 Madera Rd, in Simi Valley, in several years, so it was time to go back! They have a huge selection of Japanese, Chinese, and Mongolian food for your dining pleasure, plus there are also different soups, salads, fruits, and of course desserts and ice creams! We both tried a variety of it all, and for a buffet, it's really good!! It's definitely a locals favorite...get there early!!”

I had the egg plant sandwich's lunch special and salad, very good. The owner/waiter and wife were very nice and friendly, everyone that was there were return customers and very familiar with restaurant, it had family atmosphere. The only thing that drew me back was its dark colors, the room needs a little lighter color. The chief lived in Italy and Paris where he learn to cook, I thought it was very interesting because originally he is from El Salvador so that’s where he gets his Latin infusion. Prices were affordable.”

I've also had the burrito banado with birriera de res and salsa Rojo. it too was heavenly and huge. they are a full service butcher too so its very convenient. their place is so clean and the staff are very friendly, efficient and attentive. I always get a slice of flan to go. its one of my favorites too. the menu is extensive with everything from land to ocean. you will love it.”

Portions are generous and price can’t be beat. I got 3 tacos and chips for $6! Where else can you get a deal like that? Taco Bell would cost you twice as much for frozen fast food with tons of fat and cholesterol.The hard working and caring staff at Micheladas makes the food fresh with quality you can see as they are making it.And as an added bonus,if you’re into Karaoke, the owners will entertain you as you eat their awesome Mexican dishes. Make it a point to visit here. It’s worth the trip!

“I needed about 2-3 dozen pandulce for a xmas party. I was able to get everything fresh and some champurrado too. I also got birotes de queso y jalapeño and another with some random stuff. Both were good, the lady one just not my cup of tea lol but the bread was soft and yummy. I didn't have any of the pandulce cause I dropped it off and left, but my prima reached out and asked where I got them from cause she said they were super delicious! Just a side note, I think it was a little pricier than I'm used to. I'm from ELA and there's a panaderia on every corner and middle of a block lol It's not like that for BP, so I'm sure the price reflects that. But I'd still return!”

For the most part I come to this location many times during the week and usually don’t say anything but today I did say something because the drink was for my daughter who is a nurse an doing a double shift. She deserves her drink the way she likes it. And it’s not that I’m being a Kare but Starbucks should describe specifically what a scoop looks like that way the customer doesn’t expect something different.”
