“Not sure why I got an email from Northtown Coffee thanking me for me recent visit and wanting my review. I like the place just fine but haven't been there in months. I checked my bank statements to see if someone used my credit card number to buy something at Northtown Coffee, but thankfully that wasn't the case. So it's a mystery for which I think we can all agree that the responsible party is almost certainly space aliens and/or Mercury being in retrograde.“

“I visited the Los Bagels location in Arcata after first trying the Eureka location, which was chaotically busy on a Sunday morning. I’m so glad we decided to try the Arcata location as it was on our way out of town on our road trip. It had tons of seating and while busy, the food came out fast. I was excited to try a gluten free bagel with cream cheese and lox. One of my favorite things to eat, but regular bagels typically don’t agree with my tummy. It was delicious. My husband had chorizo, egg and Guac on a plain bagel and it looked tasty - he enjoyed it. The prices were expensive, but I felt it was worth it for the high quality food.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free plain and everything bagels“

When you get there, ask Jason for his recommendation, the guy really knows his stuff and goes well out of his way to make sure you have a positive dining experience. And if all of this wasn't good enough, their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially nowadays.“

“They are famous for their wonderful Mokkas. It’s a cozy cafe that feels like you are in old Sweden. Outdoor seating by the pond is very peaceful. Love the wood tubs and saunas! You have to make an appointment early the previous day if you want to get in for a sauna or hot tub, and you have to call or go in person to make the appointment, no online reservations. Everything is cash only.“

“Every town deserves a delicious soup shop. Great place for a cup of yellow curry soup. I highly recommend both the hot noodle bowl and the cold noodle salad. They are both HUGE portions and so customizable you can get something different every time you come in. The basil vinaigrette is my absolute favorite on a cold noodle salad, but my partner loves the wasabi vinaigrette. A great place for a fresh and delicious lunch or dinner. I always feel good after I eat here, the food makes me feel energized rather than tired and sluggish.“

“Pretty good eatery with a variety of pizza and sandwich type food choices. The fish is fresh, caught locally, and fried crispy and flaky. I had a meatball grinder that while it tasted good, I would have performed the meatball have a little more physical structure versus the softer consistency it possessed. Their pizza is pretty simple but with excelent crust just the way I enjoy it. Either way I ate here twice in two days, and the hours on a Monday and Sunday were convenient for Arcata, which is a sleepy little town.“

But honestly that's really digging for something to complain about because this place is fantastic! You can get fried tofu subbed in any of your old favorite dishes (looking at you orange tofu and sweet and sour tofu). Good portions served family style and you always get a box of white rice with your entrees as well. Everything you’re looking for in good reliable spot to order some Chinese food.
