“extremely bad tasting food and bizzare combinations....miffed at kichadi like biryani with no flavour and being served with aam ka achar....god knows how this restaurant got Michelin star rating ....Shame on the chefs and the owners for ripping off the customers with overpricing of the food for poor service, absence of any ambience or decor”
“Hundreds of wines to choose, from local to worldwide. Knowledgable and friendly staff, chic tasting room, always great vibes and good tunes spinning when we visit Velvet 48!”
“The taste is very good and the ingredients are very fresh. I recommend the lobster and seafood bisque, which tastes great.”
“A really wonderful, romantic oasis in downtown Burlingame. All the food we ordered here was delicious. The Italian sausage lasagna was my highlight. The pomegranate and arugula salad was also wonderful. The Bolognese lasagna was solid but not as standout. The complimentary focaccia bread at the beginning was just so-so.
The staff and service are extraordinarily welcoming and friendly. I'd highly recommend a visit!”

“Dined solo for work trip.
Decor was cute, BUT the window was open because it was super warm and there were a bunch of mosquitos. Made the dinner not so comfortable.
Server was not attentive, so no bad oe good review there.
Food: was eh. My falafel tasted a bit like burnt oil for my taste. BREAD was soo delicious because it was warm. Hummus was decent. Had to order a sidw of rice and it was the best thing I ate. The lemonade was fresh squeezed but toooo sweet.”
“Rocca delivered the perfect romantic dinner for two in a half-round booth. From the divine Gnocchi with Pesto Cream to the generous Ravioli Bolognese, every bite was a delight. And let's not forget the indulgent Chocolate Mousse for dessert. Impeccable service, a cocktail menu to suit both our tastes, and an atmosphere that set the scene for a memorable evening.”

“Came here yesterday for iftar to break our fast, they gave us some dates to start with water, and made sure our food would be ready at iftar time. They are family owned, friendly people and delicious red lentil soup.
Would come again :)

“This is my and my husband’s favorite sushi restaurant! This is a must-visit restaurant when friends or family visit. This is a restaurant recognized by everyone! It's a little pricey (but not terribly expensive), but it's really worth it⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really recommend this place! In particular, salmon belly and eel sushi melt as soon as you put them in your mouth. Be sure to order it haha. The place itself is small, but the sushi quality is so good that we go often haha.
This is my go-to sushi place in the bay area! I really recommend this place because once you put the sushi into your mouth.. it melts. Especially I recommend unagi(eel) sushi and salmon belly sushi! The price is a little bit high, but reasonable price - because it is definitely worth it. Also all the employees are so kind and nice here :)”

“BG is a gorgeous restaurant, with well prepared food, and live music/jazz, most days of the week. Owners are very personable and hands-on, which is rare, amongst restaurants. Great place for special occasions or just a night out with your favorite person/people. Share a great experience, without a shocking price tag!”
“Yan gon is a family own Burmese restaurant on broadway Burlingame. The owner and the entire staff were extremely friendly , attentive , courteous . helpful, and welcoming . Their dishes are delicious . I have tried their Burmese Style Curry Lamb , Singapore Street noodles, Deep fried Chicken Wings , and Wor Wonton Soup. All four dishes were delicious, but my favorite is the won ton soup . This soup is perfect , it's so healthy and brothy. The broth is so rich that left a long lasting mouthwatering and coating sensation lingering in my tongue. The wontons are so tasty , juicy , and flavorful with the right amount of , I believe was pork , ginger , garlic ,chopped onions , sugar, salt , pepper , and shrimps . . The shrimps were very tastey and fresh . It didn't have that strange scent of ammonia or fishy smell like spoiled shrimps . The restaurant is simple , bright , clean , casual ambience with ample seatings. I have been here many times and got seated right away. No wait . This restaurant is a must try if you have the craving for Burmese food or just want to try something new.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Food was good but the service could’ve been better. Maybe it’s the vibe during the day and at night they’re probably quick to turn the tables. Highly recommend for a casual lunch with family and friends.”
“The restaurant is located inside a plaza and there are a lot of parking spaces. We arrived there right after 6:00pm, and there were a few people waiting inside. After I put my name on the waitlist, we were able to get our table very quickly. We ordered the Sliced Beef & Ox Tripe in Chili Oil, Cucumber Salad, Chicken & Corn Dumpling in Chili Oil, Napa Cabbage & Pork Potstickers, Pork Xiao Long Bao, and Iced Assam Milk Tea. They served the food pretty quickly and all the staff were friendly. Those dumplings were freshly made by the chef because you could see the back with an open kitchen and watch them making all the dumplings. Dumplings and Xiao Long Bao tasted pretty good except the sliced beef and ox tripe and the drink was just ok. Highly recommended for the dumplings and Xiao Long Bao :)”

“Has everything. Drinks, vibe and empanadas! Been here many times. In door and outdoor options. Not too loud.
Cocktails are fun. They have a holiday menu too right now. The menu makes it easy to choose with drawings of each. Only draw back is the ice inside is huge soo not as much drink as you think.
The vibe is my fave. Open and chic. Enough seating.
The Empanadas are good. One per order. Chicken, beef, mushroom option.
Staff is chill and always attentive.”
“Found this location while staying nearby at the Westin. Unsuspecting and a bit hidden. However, the food was excellent, owners were kind / helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. For a quick dinner, I would certainly come back if in the area.”
“This meal, which just happened to fall on Valentine's Day, was a lovely beginning to our trip which started with a flight out of SFO. Fortunately I had thought to make a reservation or we never would have gotten in. The service was warm, the atmosphere was cozy and not too dressy, and the food and wine were great. I especially enjoyed my risotto with scallops; while the scallops were small, they were tender and there were plenty of them. We will definitely keep this restaurant in mind when we visit the area in the future.”
Cheap Eats
“The food and service was excellent. I ordered the Pianni Sandwich (Figgy & Piggy) and it was beyond good. The waiter helped us celebrate a birthday with a nice free dessert.”
“Looking for something different after our cruise. Centro definitely hit the spot!! Everything was delicious. Great atmosphere and awesome playlist!”
“Super friendly staff. This is me and my dates go to spot. We order food and hookah.
This is definitely a place u take ur date to.
If u have a girls night out, this is the place. Many times we been there, there's been those.
The staff is very patient knowledgeable. "Patient" is very important bcuz many of us aren't familiar with the food or culture. But there hasn't been any problems with anyone or food or hookah.
My date always asks to go here and I never turn her down.
Also, their hookah is decently priced. The same as other places i go to, to hookah.
If I come alone, my date considers it "cheating." ?
Food is decently priced. We were surprised but glad. I'm also glad it's a one stop spot. As in, we don't have to go to another place to eat then come to hookah.”
