My 1st visit to Topanga Social and we ordered pan fried dumplings and scallion pancakes. Both were burnt and the awful after taste from just tasting them. The dumplings were not fresh and scallion pancake was super oily. Very disappointed. Service was slow, food from other counters arrived faster. The place is clean and neat and the food ordering system was also good.
The food is ridiculously overpriced, and the displays are misleading. The pictures that are shown on the order kiosk are steamed dumplings; they look like bao or soup dumplings or something along those lines. Instead, I received gyoza/potsticker like dumplings that had clearly been reheated and were no better than anything you can by frozen at the store.
