recently stayed at the BW in Carpinteria for a few nights. The first morning we enjoyed breakfast at the Sunset Grille. Staff all pleasant. Dining room nice and relaxing. Breakfast perfect. Had poached eggs with bacon and toast.Feel bad that there are so many bad reviews. We enjoyed it. Staff have to work so hard these days to make ends meet.

Chose this hotel because the prices are cheaper than Santa Barbara. It looked good online and had the Sunset Grille on site so we felt comfortable we could easily get dinner after a long day of driving and hiking. The options on the menu for a vegetarian are a garden salad and fried mozzarella sticks. Nothing else. When I called to get room service, I asked if they had anything for a vegetarian. The answer was “only what’s on the menu”. That’s the kind of answer I got in the boonies in the 1970s. Not expected in California in 2023. Most places will at least offer to make a grilled cheese or egg salad sandwich. Also, restaurant in the hotel but no room service. I walked down to get my to go salad in a plastic container. Can’t really recommend this place.

We stayed at the hotel. They have a menu with a room service number. They apparently don't do room service. We called 2 days and they were out of iced tea. Last night we ordered a appetizer platter and it was all burnt and overcooked. Such a disappointment

this was a 3 night stay due to major tree trimming crew in our back yard. I had the breakfast sandwich from the Sunset Grill in-room service. Hot, tasty and Delivery was quick and kindly brought to my room.

We walked and were seated, weren't given a menu, saw another party that came after us get menus before us, waited 5 minutes for the server to come back to our table only to tell us that food would come out in roughly 30 minutes because there was a large party before us. What a joke.

Bartender/server was LOVELY! We were just looking to grab a quick bite on a road trip. Very limited menu, mostly fried, which will be placed on a soggy piece of romaine. Over priced for what you get.

The Sunset grill is located inside the Best Western Hotel. We stayed here for four nights, but after our first breakfast we understood that we would be going elsewhere for future meals. The poor waitress was over worked and over extended, but trying to be pleasant. They are so short on staff. I witnessed three young ladies being turned away for breakfast at 10am. This hotel doesn't offer any free grab-n-go breakfast to their guests at all. We paid $30 for mediocre food, at best. If you like burnt bacon inside your omelet, this is your place!

I have eaten here several times. The food is good, the cheeseburger is great and so is the breakfast burrito. Wish they had French toast!

We ordered breakfast for room service and we had the following oatmeal with fresh strawberries and brown sugar on the side it was a bit dry but we had milk in the room to fix it. I ordered the breakfast sandwich it comes with hash browns everything was good. We ordered pancakes, the omelet, the scramble and it was all good. Apple juice and iced tea were yummy.
I tried the Sunset Grille before seeing all of the negative reviews and was so glad that I did. I hope others will give this place a chance as our experience for breakfast was really positive. This is a hotel restaurant that's currently only open for takeout or room service at the Best Western Carpinteria. We found out that one of the chefs works for Convivo, another restaurant that I love! Our omelette, pancakes, and breakfast burritos were great. We were so happy with our food and will not hesitate to get breakfast from here next time we are in Carp!

Enjoyed breakfast on our balcony - very nice. Ordered the CA omelet w/bacon, fruit instead of potatoes and a side of sausage. Wife got the Sunrise Sandwich w/ side of potatoes. Food was fresh, ready for pickup in 15 minutes, packed in sturdy plastic containers. Great value, tasty, convenient. It was nice to relax and enjoy our quiet morning breakfast.

I was surprised by the haters. It's in a mid-range hotel/motel. Lower your standards! We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was - especially during the COVID-19 pandemic!They say they're open for room service or take-out but it appeared to essentially be the same thing. You bring them your order or call it in, and it comes to you in delivery bags. Seriously, kudos to the taste and freshness of the food. It's really easy to phone in things like breakfast burritos, bacon, pancakes, etc. This food was good, fresh, & not greasy. We enjoyed this cute hotel and hopefully we'll get back some time. And then I want to try some of their other menu items.
