Very welcoming but as we sat down they had informed us of a 1hr wait time for the food. We unfortunately didn't have time to wait.

RUN, do not walk to this intimate restaurant with BIG BOLD flavors and authentic recipes!! Thank goodness for our Yelp peeps, because we were in the desert for a Tournament and found this restaurant. My BFF is from New Orleans and because of her I've been able to enjoy authentic, delicious southern home-cooked food and the young lady holding down the kitchen (please forgive me for not remembering your name) seriously "put her foot" in these dishes!! Cheesy grits were KILLER on point! Country fried steak n eggs with biscuits n gravy...flavorful!! Jambalaya was amazing, beniets were light n airy, the fried green tomatoes were crispy and not oily. Chicken tenders were OK, not great, not bad, but still good. We tore up the peach cobbler AND banana pudding didn't stand a chance, I didn't even get a taste test! Very friendly staff, lovely singing voice came from the kitchen, adding to the "family" vibe. I believe the owner Mike came by our table to thank us for sharing our Saturday with them. We most definitely will return!! Tranesha gave excellent suggestions n her friendly vibe added to our amazing visit!

I grew up in east Texas, in the cajun food corridor between Houston and New Orleans. Now I live in Western Canada, which means that I can't get the food I grew up with. Luckily, we winter in Palm Springs and I happened to see the big "CRAWFISH" banner as I drove by and made sure to return and check them out. I'm glad I did! We've been at least once or twice a week since we discovered it. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and if you don't know what to order, just get anything that comes with gravy. Legit: it's the best sausage gravy you will ever have, period. Everyone I've brought here takes one bite and their eyes roll back in their heads like they've just seen Jesus or something. It's THAT good. The beignets are fantastic and not greasy, the crawfish boil (special of the day) was perfect, the loaded southern tots are crazy good, the popcorn crawfish are light and crispy with an amazing lemon/horseradish dipping sauce, and the service from Tranesha is reason enough to visit all by itself. She's delightful. The only nit I can pick is that the chicken fried steak was a bit overdone as were the gator bites, which got a bit chewy as a result. The flavour was on point, though, so I didn't mind much. I've brought all my Canadian friends here and introduced them to the foods I ate growing up, because so many of the dishes can't just be explained to someone who's never had them. Even after 10 years in Canada, this food is so good I got my southern accent back. Lawd have mercy.

OMG the Shrimp and creamy grits and the hush puppies were so good, someone commented on the location which is not the best but with food this good you will figure it out and find a place to park. Even the lemonade was good. But you better be quick they close at 1500!!!

We stopped by here to get a local friend a gift certificate and ended up having the most fabulous meal. Cheesy grits, and every favorite from both of our previous southern lives... Excellent coffee! Our server had the most delightful smile and happy attitude. This is a teeny store front with limited seating, no reservations, and obviously a locals favorite. They are only open from 10 to 3 but we will plan a stop here every time we're in Palm Springs

I was here a few weeks ago for the fried chicken. I must say I was disappointed to see they changed the recipe. it's like they used shake n bake. The last time I was here was Mother's Day 2021 and I fell in love with the chicken and told everyone who would listen about it. I asked the server if they changed management she said no and I told her I was asking because of the recipe change the manager came out and talked to me. He explained they were trying something different. I give their customer service a 10+ but fried chicken in my opinion is a negative.

The menu! The menu! The sizzling sound of crawfish and shrimpers frying! The French press coffee, the made to order beignets! The fabulous, friendly beautiful server! This tucked-in-a-strip-mall gem is worth the stop for the menu-read alone. Me and my friends will go back to try everything on the menu!

This is a gem of a little place to get good southern style food and great service. The fried chicken was some of the best we have had. It was not greasy at all. It was very crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the collard greens were good and the Cole slaw, the fried green tomatoes were AMAZING (which are very hard to find good ones in CA). The waitress was so friendly and provided us with great service. The whole place was very clean including the restrooms. We will definitely will be back even though we live 1 hour away, it was definitely worth the drive. Good Southern food is hard to find in CA so if you like it this is definitely a place to put on your list to visit.

I have been wanting to go here for more any a couple years, but would always end up wanting to get it at a time when they were closed sadly. However, that changed the day before my birthday! My gf and I loved it! Probably the best chicken fried steak I've ever had, period and that gravy! Tell the chef or chefs to teach me their secret on that cause I can make some gravy, but man y'all got me beat. The deserts we're just as good too. Absolutely loved the grits, haven't had grits that good since I lived in North Carolina.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience here. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was extremely comfortable. Very friendly environment. We look forward to visiting this place again when we're in the area.

I ordered online, crawfish as my main dish. Disappointing, it wasn't fresh probably frozen. The lil sauce that comes with it is homemade and good. My sides were beans and greens. They were very good. No rice in the beans, perfect for me. Both sides were seasoned perfectly. No cornbread on the menu : ( I'd recommend to order online, to go, as the place is very small. My experience was ok but not what I expected. I'd recommend this place.

The Southern Belle is a hidden gem that never disappoints. The Beignets are addictive. I can never get enough of them.

I felt I was back in my Grandmothers kitchen or back in Louisiana as a young man when I lived in New Orleans. This is a very rare jewel in the Coachella Valley. We will be back

I wanted to give this place a better rating but just couldn't. We got the seafood trio, the Cajun fried chicken, coleslaw, fried green tomatoes, and peach cobbler with ice cream. We ordered beef ribs but were told they were sold out. We also order the mashed potatoes but those never made it. The seafood trip had Cajun shrimp, fried soft shell crab and fried catfish. The shrimp anf crab were good however, the catfish had no flavor. Coleslaw was good as well but the chicken also had no seasoning or flavor (described as having secret seasonings on it) we could taste. Fried green tomatoes were ok. Those also had no real flavor to them. Peach cobbler was good, crust was dense and yummy! We will try again when we come back as it may have just been an off day.

Jeff is extremely friendly. He is always smiling and attentive. The chicken was delicious, Charlisa did an amazing job. I will definitely be back.
