“Shabu Wara is hands down, the BEST Japanese shabu shabu option in the Chino Hills area. We've been a couple times now and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high quality shabu experience! The service is amazing as well - the owner Arnold is super nice and the main guy at the counter Dayton is our new best friend. :POn Tuesdays and Sundays, Shabu Wara offers an ALL YOU CAN EAT experience, if you choose to avail. They have a standard a la carte menu too. On our most recent visit, we went for the AYCE. There were 3 options - Basic ($69pp), Deluxe ($89pp), or Premium ($109pp). Take a look at the photos of each of the menus so you can see the differences between the 3 options. The deluxe and premium have the Japanese A5 Wagyu Chuck Eye Steak, which is the appeal for those higher end options.We went with the Deluxe option this time and were not disappointed. Here's a breakdown of what we tried:- Japanese A5 Wagyu Brisket- Japanese A5 Wagyu Chuck Eye Steak- Full Blood MB9+ Australian Wagyu Brisket- Full Blood MB9+ Australian Wagyu Chuck Eye Steak- American Wagyu Karubi- Seafood platter (tiger shrimp, scallops, salmon, mussels)Of these items, of course we loved the Japanese A5 options which just melted in our mouths, but our personal favorite was the Australian Wagyu Brisket! “I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for many many years. Having moved to Hawaii I haven't gone in a few years. I was so happy that they are still in business. I was visiting family in Pomona and stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed but we were able to get seating fairly quickly. We all ordered the same item which is the salmon roll. It was delicious and tasted fresh. I could have eaten 2 plates of it. I tried the yakisoba but was way too sweet for my liking. In Hawaii we eat it more savory. We were also given miso soup which was extremely appreciated considering it was a cool evening. service was great and prompt. I will definitely be returning when I am visiting family again.“

The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles achieved that perfect al dente texture that's essential for a great bowl of ramen. The attentive service, particularly from the waitress, added to the positive experience. The ambient atmosphere, complemented by really nice music, created a vibe that made me feel younger. “I really like the food. I always get the 2 item bento with chicken teriyaki and California rolls. Super filling so worth the price. Recently my bf also got the 2 pc bento with salmon, he liked it. Just sucked because they basically gave him 2 of the thinnest slivers of a slice. He was so disappointed and was expecting a lot more. Other than that the fried dumplings are bomb.“

I was pleasantly greeted by Kai, and his customer service was truly out of this world!Kai and the cook Ken catered to my needs perfectly, taking great care to ensure my celiac dietary needs were met! Not a single trace of gluten came near my sushi roll. I've never had such a seamless experience at a sushi joint. Eating out isn't always this easy with my condition, but this restaurant feels just like home.The food was phenomenal. I LOVE me some good salmon, so I ordered the Salmon Lover specialty roll. The salmon was so velvety, it literally felt like melted in my mouth while eating it. I scarfed that bad boy down so fast, I immediately ordered a new roll after that.Once again, I cannot commend the service enough. I hope anyone who reads this feels inspired to give the place a try if they have certain dietary restrictions that they believe may be possible to work around with the proper food preparation because you'll absolutely find that here.
