“Pulled over here completely by chance for lunch and was the luckiest thing that happened to me in months. The tacos were the best I have had in my life. They got our order slightly wrong once but it was still great because whatever you order there, you will be impressed, and they gave us an extra taco for the error. Turned out they were closing and they locked up right after we left but didn't even mention it to us after we repeatedly ordered more tacos because of how amazing they were. Tacos and pastries were super affordable and way too delicious. Whole place was extremely clean and they had an amazing, clean bathroom. Worth a detour.”

“Lovely cozy little place with plenty of Steinbeck memorabilia to peruse through. The servers are all very kind (all volunteers!) My chicken wrap was yummy and the veggie broth and bread rolls were definitely homemade and delicious. It was definitely worth the lunch stop. Keep in mind they close at 2pm so arrive before 2.”

“Best (Gobernador) Shrimp Tacos EVER!!!Abundant and super fresh shrimp cooked to the exact perfect second, delivered perfectly warm, crammed into fresh homemade crispy soft tortillas, topped with fluffy homemade guac, sautéed sweet onions and peppers with oozy soft melted cheese. Absolutely mind-blowing delicious! It will be an almost impossible challenge to order anything else when I eat here next time, but the menu all looks so tempting, too. Service is wonderful, prices v reasonable, lovely ambiance and they are open all afternoon. What a FIND!!! ¡Muchas Gracias!”

“Tried it out for the first time. They’ve only been open a week. I did a test order the thin crust and thick. Had Two different types of pizza and chicken wings. The chicken wings were great. They were moist and the sweet chili sauce was finger licking Good (sorry, KFC). Both the pizzas were really great. Everybody in the house. Love them. Finally found a good pizza place in Salinas. There are a lot of pizza places most of them really suck. I presume that it was the owners working the counter, and he was a really nice man. We will be going back.. I’m also going to contact him and let him know how great this was please support local businesses. This is not a chain. This is community people and let’s support our community.”

A plane tasting piece of meat, and a little on the dry side. I seriously do not recommend it. “This is a very popular spot for the Hispanic crowd. Everything is made from scratch. The tortillas are fabulously fresh. This is the only place I have ever seen chili relleno burritos, oh so good! They only make 50 per day and they are usually gone by 1 pm. Long lines are common at lunch time, but with several servers behind the counter the line moves fast. You choose your items while you watch them being out together. There is no indoor seating.”

“Very high quality food and service for Salinas. What a surprise to walk into! A polished European getaway in Old Town! The bar, tables and booths are very well done. Although we didn't have cocktails on this outing, the bar looked very well-stocked to make some very high quality drinks. Patria has a wonderful menu with many options. The salads are absolutely top notch, and the butter lettuce salad tastes like the lettuce was literally just picked before being tossed into a perfect vinaigrette. Schnitzel isn't easy to find, and never done this well. So many good offerings here. The service was excellent, and the server was well-spoken, super polite and knowledgeable. We would definitely come back!”

“I made a quick trip this weekend to my hometown of Salinas for a cousin's funeral, and I found this place on Yelp (where else). My brother and I were hungry for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes with over medium eggs, beans and rice, while my brother ordered the country eggs Benedict (sausage Patty instead of Canadian bacon). The salsa verde on the chilaquiles had just enough bite without being soggy, the tortilla chips were nice and crispy, and the eggs were cooked just right. The beans and rice complimented the meal perfectly. I was going to order the optional carne asada to go on top of the chilaquiles, but honestly, I didn't miss it. The Señora, presumably the proprietor, came by our table three times with a big smile to see how we liked it. No small feat, considering how busy they were. We are very well for $41 plus tip. I will definitely return to this excellent local spot when I am in town.”

“You know those places you feel at home? This is one for me. Hospitable, friendly, welcoming service. Food was yummy, fast and furious! I got Tlacoyos.. I came years ago and had to return. Food is fresh. The menu has great options even for Vegans. The masa de mais taste fresh too. Oaxaca is different from regular Mexican food. The space is on point! Yo, it’s righteously priced too! Even my dog enjoyed the outdoor sitting with me. Did I mention they’re bilingual? So they speak the Spanglish. All good in this neighborhood. Don’t be scared the people say hi ?? - smile life is ? good.”

“Love this little hidden pink gem located on Park Row in South Salinas near the Bagel Corner. They have great weekly lunch specials two people can share a plate as they serve Large servings. My favorite lunch combo is the noodles with kung pao shrimp. They are also one of the few restaurants open late in the area. Go give it a try!!!”

“If you’re looking for really good (fancyish) tacos this is the place! Everything is SO good. Fusion is definitely the correct word to describe it. Fresh made corn tortillas, you can’t go wrong. A little expensive but worth it and even more so on discounted Taco Tuesdays. Also REALLY happy to report they use plant fiber to-go boxes!! Huge plus! The wait is pretty quick and it’s settled at a super convenient location in South Salinas. Only wish they were open a little later!”
