“I had the gyro sandwich combo with hummus, and everything was fresh and flavorful. I got pretty much exactly was I was looking for when I decided to try this place, and I enjoyed trying a couple of new flavors on the side, particularly the Afghan chutney. The dining area was clean and the music was chill, and I'd gladly come again.“
“I’ve come here the past three days and every single time it hits. The girl in the front always has a smile and makes sure my bowl is always looking right. Cashier is always positive and tells me to have a nice day and makes me enjoy my meal even more.“
“Kebab Shop is my go to when I'm in the gaslamp. 5 stars in all categories.I was a little disappointed they discontinued the meatballs but I had the Kafta and it's actually better.Doesnt matter if you like a wrap or a plate both are exceptional. The manager is a cool dude as well. Always very pleasant and on top of his game.Fair warning, it takes like 10 or 15 minutes for the steak so be patient when you go there and order a freshly cooked skewer of meat.“
“The food is clean, tasty, fresh and healthy. What else can you ask for? You could see the owner grinding in the kitchen to make sure everything is perfect. He really cares about your experience. This places one of a kind and very authentic. MOST of the other places in San Diego have influences from Iraq, which is good in its own way. But this place has a touch of the Levant and is a totally different eating experience. One bite and you are hooked... I've eaten here many times and I've never been let down...“
“Great place to spend time with your love ones and enjoy a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Family chiken and beef kaboob feeds about 4 people. It was healthy and delicious we even had leftovers for lunch tomorrow..or later. The medditerranian salad was so good. I recommend this place, great atmosphere. Coming back for “
“I tried the Kebab shop location in Ventura and have loved it ever since, so when I was getting into San Diego after a long work week I was craving the freshness and cleanliness feel of the Kebab Shop food. I had the San Diego wrap previously which was fantastic and turned me onto this place in the first place. This time I had a bowl on greens with chicken and added rice and hummus. They have the greatest mixture of flavors with their ingredients and the classic garlic yogurt sauce brings it all together. Love this place and have tried to make my own version at home but just doesn't compare.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Mystic Grill in La Mesa, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience. This hidden gem offers some of the most delightful Mediterranean cuisine in San Diego. The standout dish for me was undoubtedly their hummus. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, it's no exaggeration to say that Mystic Grill serves up the best hummus in San Diego. Paired with warm, freshly baked pita bread, it was a match made in food heaven. The menu here is a treasure trove of Mediterranean delights. From the succulent kebabs to the aromatic shawarma, every dish was a burst of authentic flavor. The quality of ingredients and the skilled preparation really shine through in every bite. What's even more impressive is the pricing. Despite the exceptional quality of the food, the prices at Mystic Grill are incredibly reasonable, making it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place for a date night or a gathering with friends. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. In a city known for its diverse food scene, the Mystic Grill stands out as a hidden gem offering amazing Mediterranean cuisine, particularly their legendary hummus. If you're looking for a taste of the Mediterranean that won't break the bank, this place should be at the top of your list. Don't miss the opportunity to savor their delectable dishes – you won't be disappointed!“
“I love this place. They are always pleasant and greet you when you walk in. Food is amazing every time. Even for a small business they seem passionate about what they do. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to taste authentic East African cuisine.“
“Came here because someone recommended it. I ordered the mini San Diego chicken bowl for $10 and added a drink and garlic potatoes for $4. The recommendation did not disappoint. It was delicious and had the taste I was looking for in shawarma.“
“Very nice place. Exceptional service. The delicious fresh food, my husband is Arab and it is one of his favorite restaurants. We go on Sundays, it's not crowded in the afternoons so it's noisy, the place is very quiet. Very friendly employees and very tasty desserts. ?“
“Good little casual kabob place. I went for a falafel wrap to go. The wrap was huge. Just a tad bland but the garlic yogurt made it better. Self serve but food comes out quickly. When I come back to San Diego, I will have to try the kabobsDefinitely a repeat“
“Popped in with a buddy on a whim. The parking lot is a little small and the outside of the building is a little worse for wear, but holy cow the food. From the parking lot the scent of seasonings and grilled meat had me salivating. The food was amazing and there was a ton of it for the price. I got a chicken plate with hummus and pickled vegetables and couldn't finish it. One plate is easily enough to split for a good sized lunch for 2. Took home some chicken shawarma which i demolished for dinner. Super looking forward to being back in the area to grab another meal. The seating is a little limited, but the inside was immaculately kept. Reminded me a bit of being in Sicily where the outside appearance has little bearing on how nice the inside is. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My buddy and I put in to go orders and they took the initiative to wait about 10-15 minutes to start cooking it so it was hot when we left.Parking: The lot is shared with a few other businesses, but it looked like about 10-12 spots were there.“
“The chicken shawarma over rice was quite enjoyable—tender, flavorful grilled chicken. However, I wish they had asked me before drenching the whole plate in heavy white sauce; it would have tasted better without it.The grilled chicken salad was also satisfying, with ample servings of salads, nuts, and berries. We appreciated the outdoor seating, providing a breath of fresh air during the winter flu/covid season. ?“
“Came in for the first time and had a great experience. Baylee the cashier greeted me and was very welcoming. She recommended I try the San Diego wrap. All of the employees at this location are very helpful thank you to Diana and Lorena for the quick service!“
“We had the three meet combination skewer; lamb, beef & chicken along w huge portion of hummus, rice, garlic paste & all of the pita you could eat & a bowl of flavorful lentil soup. Also a big Greek salad that was plentiful & delicious. Try the house drinks like tamarind w rose water & tasty tea. Everything was delicious & we shared it all.“
“Sorry, there are no pictures to share even after 2 visits. I was so impressed with the flavor, portions & selection here. Their plates consist of your choice of protein & sides. Honestly, if you buy 2 kabobs, you can easily split the sides such as hummus w pita, saffron rice, Greek salad, etc. And their sauces are self-served. Fiery red & cilantro jalapeño. It's very tasty & worth the trip! The steak is thick but tender, saffron chicken is flavorful!“
