I've been eating at Rubio's since the 80's. This Eastlake Chula Vista location is the worst I've ever been to. For a while, the Parkway Plaza location in El Cajon was bad, but then it got better. Since I moved to Eastlake back in August, I've probably eaten at this location 15 times. It is a crap shoot, 50/50, if they'll get your order correct, so if it's take-out, be sure to check before leaving. Also, it is the longest wait time of any Rubio's I've been to. Lots of room for improvement here.

Let me start out by saying I’m a little bit of a Rubios connoisseur. I have eaten it almost every Rubios in San DiegoThis Rubio’s is hands-down, the worst one . The lack of care that they put in to preparing the food is evident in almost every order, I live very close this Rubios, so I wish it was my go to. However, I will gladly drive out of the way to a different one to get a quick bite to eat.

I used to give this place five stars across the board but today I was slightly disappointed. The tortillas weren't like they used to be and the salsa was watered down and the beef tacos was mostly lettuce I still like the food but it's definitely has changed. Hopefully somebody will get it back on its right path what I recommend it yes but not like I would be before

Ordered ahead in the app.My order was ready and waiting upon my arrival.Oddly, the same meal (a build - your - own tacos kids meal) came with different filling choices than the same meal ordered at a different (Carlsbad) Rubio's location.Don't get me wrong - the citrus rice is tasty - but for building tacos, I believe I prefer the chopped romaine lettuce (available at the Carlsbad location) to the citrus rice that was the companion to the grilled chicken and shredded cheese to fill the very small, but very delicious flour tortillas I chose.There is no option in the app to add additional orders of extra warm tortillas, so I requested to add some on to my order inside the restaurant.They are a little bit pricey for how tiny they are but boy, are they delicious. They toast them up fresh when you order them.You can add all sorts of other extras and add-onsin the app, though. I added an extra individual fish fillet. A small fillet, perfectly beer battered, not greasy at all and perfectly prepared - lightly fried to perfection - so light, tasty and satisfying! A little squeeze of fresh lemon or lime slice (free add-on from the Salsa Bar) for $2 it rounded out my meal just right.Seriously, they should do a fish n chips plate because they have the preparation on those fillets NAILED!!

How does a fish taco shop run out of limes? The guy was so casual "we ran out, sorry". I was thinking, there is a wallmart grocery 300 yards other side of the mall. What are you still doing here? I doubt it crossed his mind. Disappointed.

We love Rubios the fish tacos we try to go at least once a week never had any problems with the service or the food always hot and delicious no complaints. But once l complain to the waitress that my taco was cold l don’t like cold food and she took it and brought me a new one she was very pleasant about it . Weeks after that the same thing was happening over and over again Someone has not been doing their job right to busy socializing the corn tortillas been so cold and the fish too one day l just didn’t eat my tacos the tortillas were breaking of how cold the tortilla was it’s upsetting you go to eat what you like and paid so much money so you end up throwing the food away because the tortilla is cold and the fish too this has happen three times already to my husband and me . So we haven’t been their in a couple of months these workers the cooks need to take the time to make sure the food is hot for every order inside the restaurant and not try to make so many orders at the same time and the waitress need to bring the food right away to the table as soonest is done in stead of socializing too. The time my husband and me go is never busy maybe 5 different customers eating their food so when we get their 4 waiters are standing around waiting for orders to go and for the people walking in is not that busy. Eating out is getting to expensive at fast food places now for them to not provide good customer service .

I normally really love this location but today not so much. I ordered the original fish taco plate and I received it pretty quick which was a bit odd .I only received one with actual fish inside the other taco seemed to be just all fried batter. Please take the time to put out quality food , i definitely do not feel satisfied with the meal.
