“This is the best fish and chip I ever tried the same one in Antelope cuz I've been looking I mean it was the best it wasn't oily or greasy and it was crispy I'm giving all kinds of stars at least that place was the ball they made their own Carter sauce I mean pretty good“
“All I got to say is .I recommend this place to eat ?. I love the fish and chips. And the rest of the menu. You got to see for yourself. So go check this place out. you will not be disappointed. I guarantee you.Family and friends you'll love it. ??.“
“Very nice family owned fish and chip shop. It's a small chain take out and eat in restaurant. Very good fish n chips and some vegetarian chooses. I recommend it unless you don't like fried foods. Very fast service as well. Long live ye olde Tug Boat fish n chipper.“
“When I used to live down here in the Sac area, I used to have fish and chips all the time, but now I live way up in the north end of the valley and we don't have many places that are dedicated fish and chips restaurants. Tugboat is a small chain in the Sac area and has some of the best fish and chips around. The prices have gone up some since I last ate here. I got a 3 piece fish and chips order for around $15. Gone are the days of the $8.00 3 piece order! The fish was hot and crispy like I remembered .Not really greasy at all. I like to come get fish and chips when I visit the area now. I'll be beck!“
“Very good pub! My fiance and I came here for st paddy's yesterday and enjoyed every bit of it!It was very crowded but was to be expected for the holiday. We still somehow managed to find seating. The ambience was very home-y, I loved the wooden booths and historic artwork. I'm a big history person so I loved it!! Much better than most pubs I've ever been to, with very fast service even with the amount of people there. Fish was delicious with a soft bun. Fries were hot. Shepherds pie was good just a little salty. Pretzel was good, cheese sauce was okay. Overall had a good experience here! Will definitely be back! :)“
“Good food and VERY good service! I must have gotten up 5-6 times asking for things and they never once lost their cool with me. If I had cash on me I would have left a tip!! I got the fried fish and shrimp combo and it was so good. I had to exchange the street corn for beans (which were good) because the corn was too spicy but they didn't get mad they just exchanged it. I upgraded to the sweet potato fries and they were good too. I will go back and get the shrimp again!!! I like their tartar sauce too, it's wasn't too sweet and not too much dill.“
“I ordered take out. I ordered 2 pieces of fish with chips. The fish is so good. The pieces are big. I couldnt finish my second piece. The chips are just right...not too skinny not to large. Worth the 12$ for the amout of food you get cause it filled me up. It is definetly one of my favorite places to eat.“
“Great fish and chips for no meat Fridays. Locally owned. Been around for a long time. Offers wine as well while waiting for your food. Good value for your money. Waitress can get refills for water, tarter sauce. And ketchup. Thanks.Parking: Lots of parking available.“
“The Onyx Club could be considered a dive, right, but is elevated by unexpected elegance.Does that make any sense?Dark wood, onyx fixtures, (duh) clean looking brickwork, an eclectic jukebox, a friendly bartender, and an old world feel mash up to provide a comfy atmosphere. The food only gets 4 stars bc it's all fried, (I think) I would have liked a cold shrimp cocktail or a cheese plate but y'know, whatchaagonnado? We chatted up a couple of locals and there was (almost) a singalong for a satisfying midday oasis from the current crisis (name that one for yourself ?)Worth a stop. Worth a return stop!“
“Update 2/23/2024I am a little disturbed as they added kiosk order(now forced), however there was an employee liaison assisting people who may have trouble. My outlook on kiosks:*People take this as "Do it yourself as we are either not staffed to do this or other things are more important than you".*I don't see this as service oriented.*Menu is fragmented on a screen and buttons all over which makes it tough to order for most.*McDonald's has kiosks, but nobody uses them.Example: 70+ lady walks up and tries to order. She has issues and has a ton of questions, this takes time. In the meantime you have a line backed up plus another user at the same time, with kiosk issues. Now what you have is a problem. Another one of your employees needs to be brought over to help now. Now everything is backed up.I know what the answer will be from your establishment. " We have backup, we will then take order manually"I get it, less employees brings more money to the budget, but in the long run it will not as service to customers is compromised and a reputation will prevail in the long run.I did kindly ask the manager why kiosks. She replied and we spoke. What dates out to me about that conversation is that her words were "People don't want to work for $20 per hour". Strange comment. Oh well. I have given up going there. Done with coaching.Let's get back to good ole excellent customer service. Bring that vision back. This is sorely needed.End of latest update-------------------------------------Great place, great service. Most "Most of the employees" are great.Bring the salsa bar back please.Fish is always consistent and fair prices. Gourmet food for less and a ton of options.Good job California Fish Grill!“
