I've been coming here since I was a little boy in 1990. Nothing about this place has changed. Same lady works there. Only cash accepted. Morning laborers come in every morning to get their bread and coffee. Nothing more beautiful than seeing how original this place is. The bread is amazing and very cheap. This place is a staple in the west side of LP

Love the polvorones best in town & the bolillo and Tamales just wish you could find Parking. Parking lot is horrible you can never find parking. Try the jalapeño bolillo & cookies. Ocupan mejor parqueadero nunca encuentro y mejor me voy.

This is the place to go for fresh pan dulce! I go there when I am in town when they first open. They do not accept debit, take cash. I grew up on pan dulce from here and although no longer the same owners from years ago, still one of the best bakeries in town for pan dulce!

This used to be our favorite spot for carnitas, but something has changed there, and not for the better. My husband has been going there over 50 years and for me it’s been the past 6 since he initiated me to it. It was always consistent and delicious. Two weeks ago today, on a Friday evening, we took an out of town guest , promising him the best carnitas ever. It was such an embarrassment when the platter of carnitas for three was delivered. Piles of greasy, cold soft pork skin, scattered with a few bits and pieces of gristly and fatty pork. The tortillas were cold and tasted old. Today we decided to see if it had been an off day for them and stopped in a bit after 12 noon. This time we ordered carnitas tacos with rice and beans. The texture and quality of the pork was better, but it was so finely chopped and tasteless, wrapped inside a cold tortilla, that it almost had the texture of canned tuna. Service was still good both times, but I don’t know what’s happened to their signature dish. It’s doubtful we’ll give it a third chance to disappoint. A sad ending to a once great spot for delicious carnitas served hot and fresh.
