Food was okay, but not as good as Pete's Teryaki. The beef was delicious and tender, but the pork was tough and dry. I felt like I was eating bad jerky. The girl at the counter was friendly and her service was great, but the food was lacking. I was disappointed.

This is simply one of my favorite places in town. I live across town and whenever I am in the area I end up picking up to take home for dinner. The chicken teriyaki is good, the beef is great. It tastes very steak-y. The pork katsu is my favorite and it is so good. And the portions are huge. I'm a big dude and not finishing my plate is a rare occurrence in my life, but I occasionally don't finish my plate from here and I save the rest for a snack later. It's a tiny place but it clean, their friendly and like I said, the food is great. You should eat here!

This place is a hidden gem. Had the chicken bowl with white meat... best I’ve ever had.
First time going to Mai's Teriyaki Express. Ordered the short robe and chicken teriyaki combo. The short ribs were burnt. Weren't they paying attention when they were cooking. They give a lot of food but no shrimp tempura. I will try them one more time and will not order the short ribs. Kenji's is so much better but no location in Clovis. I will go to Dai ichi before going back to this location but will give them another chance but not real soon.

I go to Kenji's Teriyaki a lot, and get their katsu chicken, so I have a great place to compare this place to. The price is $1 less than Kenji's but it's not anywhere near the quality and taste that I was hoping for. I was surprised that it wasn't hot, even though I ate it immediately. I didn't like the taste of the chicken. I think it was the oil they fried it in. The fried chicken was saturated with oil and not crispy. The only thing I enjoyed here were the sweet pickles.
