“Came here to try their Pan de Elote and their Chocolate Cake. The Pan de Elote was amazing - specially topped with ice cream! The Chocolate Cake was too dense and sweet for my liking but definitely coming back for their Pan de Elote! They have their own lot so parking was easy for us.“

The menu ranges from homey comfort-food entrees to popular street bites, and some new-age fusion items as well. Atmosphere: 2/5 As a take-out-only restaurant located on Hoover Street, there's no seating and it faces traffic. If only there were some colorful plastic chairs (like the ones you see in SE Asia) - the vibes would be immaculate. However, you're either standing and eating or taking the food back to your home. Service: 3/5 Wasn't bad but wasn't warm or friendly either - service was okay Flavors: 5/5 Highly recommend: -Banh mi trung op la (banh mi with fried egg): homemade mushroom pate is delicious, it inspired me to make some at home. The egg was crispy to the heavens. -Rau ma juice: in English known as pennyworth, extremely refreshing, herbal, and will cool you down on a hot day. -Tofu goi cuon (spring rolls): The peanut sauce offered with this was so yummy! The spring rolls were super fresh and all the herbs complemented the flavors. Parking: 2/5 Street parking only, very limited Pricing: 3/5 Definitely not cheap for Vietnamese food, however, LA is a high-cost-of-living area so I understand that the owner needs to maintain overhead costs and pay her employees a fair wage! I ordered the avocado toast thinking it would be an unremarkable snack. Have you ever experienced something so above and beyond expectation you wonder if you’re on a hidden camera show? This toast is that good. Toppings were fresh, seasoning was on point, and the toast was perfectly soft but toasty. Also ordered the Michelle Wi which lemonade and black tea. It was packed so I didn't look at everything they had, but they had plenty of good looking sweet stuff to ruin your Hollywood diet. I just grabbed snacks to take on my travels. I snagged a bag of melon pan and it looks and taste just like anime told me it would. Also got a couple steamed buns, sadly they were sold out of anko, but I got pork and curry. I believe it's the locals who live close by that walk here that frequent Figaro. We were lucky enough to find parking on a Tuesday morning most recently. We ordered pasta, a hot chocolate and a coffee. My favorite time of day to eat here is evening. The inside of the bistro is gorgeous, and makes me feel like I'm in Paris. It's old and full of charm. “From the first visit, Civitas has been our favorite ever since! Whenever we are out of town and try another coffee shop we always compare that coffee shop to Civitas. "Is it as good as Civitas?" The answer is very rarely a "yes". Our regular order is an unsweetened iced oat milk latte! And I would like to say that it doesn't give us "that first sip feeling", it gives us "that every sip feeling"! Wonderful baristas, delicious coffee, and reasonable prices! :)“

It is a whole fish crispy on the outside but tender on the inside . Very tasty with a pita, hummus & tabbouleh. My husband and I share it & we love it. We have also tried their chicken and beef kabob and these are also very delicious. Outdoor patio seating is a nice option if you want some fresh air.“
