“Was out in the area. Had already heard about this place so I decided to try it. I got the spicy Korean beef and noodles. It had a slight kick, but I enjoyed this bowl. The steak was tender, it had enough sauce and I love mushrooms and cilantro. I would get it again. I also had the cheesy bread and a beverage. The price was right for all I purchased. I will be coming back here. Go try Noodle Company and see for yourself.“
“Ashley is wonderful! She was so friendly and even as I started to say my order, I had to catch myself. She came up asking how my day was and then I apologized and said good thank you, how is yours? That meant a lot to me. Then I placed my order. It's rare for people to love their job and love people. You can tell Ashley loves serving the people. I know some might see this as just her doing her job, but the kindness she displayed deserves to be recognized. I have been dealing with removal of cancer and bad issues came up after. When anyone takes the time like Ashley did to see how her customers are it makes you feel wanted at that business. I hope management recognizes the hard work she does. Thank you again Ashley!“
“My fiancé and I have put Mazal in our rotation of FAVORITE places. It's not just the food, but since it's yelp..... THE FOOD: I'm new to the vegetarian lifestyle, and started reluctantly under doctor's orders. Mazal has been a revelation! Tal and his staff prepare vegetarian dishes that taste amazing because they were always intended to be vegetarian! Fresh fennel salad, hearty beats with cumin, silky humus and baba ganoush. And mushrooms so perfectly grilled that they taste - dare I say - MEATY, like a mushroom should! So yes, the food is supurb. But that's not the reason we come back. Nor is it the reason we decided to celebrate our recent engagement with them. Mazal feels like a home. The decor is warm, the patio is beautiful and spacious, and Hanni, Tal, and the rest of the staff are kind and welcoming. So, I suggest you come for the food, stay for the people, and come back for both.“
“The place is gorgeous, especially if you love a nice terrace. The food... Is it because it's the only middle Eastern gluten free place, or is it because the ingredients are fresh, or is it because the preparation is perfect, or maybe it's all the small details... I think it's all of the above, one of the best middle Eastern places in LA, and the best gluten free one :) enjoy their manahish!“
“Jongewaard BAKE N BROIL is a hidden gem; in Bixby Knoll area of Long Beach; that took me straight back to the 50s with its quaint diner charm and mouthwatering treats. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by friendly faces and a warm atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Let's talk about the desserts - oh my goodness, where do I even begin? The Red Velvet cake stole the show with its rich flavor and perfect texture, earning the top spot on my list. But the German Chocolate cake wasn't far behind, delivering a decadent experience that left me craving more. And don't even get me started on the lemon cream cheese pie - it's a slice of heaven on a plate! But it's not just about the sweets at Jongewaard BAKE N BROIL. Their breakfast options are equally divine, especially the lemon blueberry pancakes, which were an absolute delight. And for those craving something heartier, the steak and eggs breakfast hit the spot, while the burgers and onion rings satisfied my savory cravings perfectly. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the welcoming atmosphere and the owner's commitment to giving young employees a chance to shine. It's refreshing to see a business that values community and opportunity as much as they value delicious food. Whether you're looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane or simply craving some incredible comfort food, Jongewaard BAKE N BROIL is the place to be. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Anyone saying otherwise is a hater! Support local businesses.“
“This is a solid spot for lunch, baked goods, and pantry items (sauces, dressings, cookies, etc.) The shakahuka can’t be missed, and the same goes for the Ho Barcelona sandwich. ? I’ve come through here many times throughout the years, and everything I’ve ordered has been from really good to great.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian sandwiches, quiches, and other lunch items.“
“My parents have visited in the past and told me that whenever I’m in L.A. to check out Porto’s. Well, I came down from Vegas for the day and as I was getting ready to head back I made sure to stop by the store in Buena Park to pick up some goodies as I was coming from Huntington Beach.I picked up a selection of savory and sweet items to try out. As I am half Cuban I remember eating the same items as my grandmother made and sure enough the items I picked out had spot on flavor. Next time I’m back in Southern California I am going to purchase even more to bring back. The price per item is really inexpensive as well. The bakery inside is large with plenty of seating. They have 2 counters to order from as well as a side cafe.“
“1903... wow. A friend bought a box of mochi here and I was able to try some. I'm not big on mochi since I'm just so so with red bean filling, which is most common. The mochi was pillowy soft though. I'm glad I got to try it from this place. If you're looking for mochi in Sacramento, Osaka-Ya is just as good!“
“Tiny little bakery, in little Tokyo specializing in Asian baked goods. It was packed so I didn't look at everything they had, but they had plenty of good looking sweet stuff to ruin your Hollywood diet. I just grabbed snacks to take on my travels. I snagged a bag of melon pan and it looks and taste just like anime told me it would. Also got a couple steamed buns, sadly they were sold out of anko, but I got pork and curry. Haven't tried those yet, but the melon pan got me excited for them.“
“People that give low star reviews to places because “the line is too long” or “I couldn’t find parking” are annoying. Are you expecting a coffee shop to be empty in the morning??The drinks and food are great, the staff is friendly. 5 stars.“
“I had their Tiramisu cake slice. Kinda dry. Staff was more interested in having their own conversations than taking my order. I felt like I waited forever but probably was more like 5 minutes for them to finally take my order. I also had their chocolate chip cookies. Definitely delicious.“
“My go-to for sweets! Staff are welcoming and friendly. Communication for cake ordering went smoothly. Best of all, my mom loved her birthday cake! Thank you! Highly recommend Sugar From the Heart! I just added the cake topper purchased from etsy :)“
“This bakery was doing free, Easter cookie decorating kits for the kids. The presentation for the kids was really above and beyond but the real gem was the gentleman behind the counter. He was super nice and interacted with the kids in a really great way. I can’t wait to come back here again.“
“Great place. Awesome for gluten free. The Tea Leaf Salad is a MUST and the take-home kit to make later is just as amazing. The staff here is so kind and the atmosphere is truly family-style friendly. Another favorite is the pork/pumpkin stew…good anytime of year.“
“I'm not even vegan or gluten-free, I just love the food! The first time I stopped by was for a party I was having and I wanted sweets for people with various dietary restrictions. I wasn't even home before I decided to try one. It was so good, I had to call them and let them know how much I loved it!From what I've heard from other bakeries is... you can do vegan and make it good, or you can do gluten-free and make it good, but it's really tricky to get both together and make it taste right. But Cake Girl makes it taste right! Rich and moist and not too "fake".I refer friends here all the time, and although I normally avoid eating too many sweets, I do love stopping by on occasion for a treat!I love the location and everyone there is really nice!“
“First time here and they nailed it. Got the Bolognese sauce, very tasty and the pasta, curly long ones, were excellent. The wine did not really pair with the red sauce, a Spanish dry red...Water next time perhaps. Will definitely return to this spot! The bread was very tasty ....after we had them cut it for us.“
“Amazing! The fish is so fresh and the seaweed is perfectly toasted and crisp! Some of the best handrolls I’ve ever had and honestly affordable for the sushi quality! I like the counter service and although the menu is limited, I really don’t need any extra frills when the handrolls are this good“
“NO CASH ACCEPTED HERE -- first thing to know if you're coming here A pretty, little cafe that serves beautiful sandwiches that are as great to eat as they are to look at. My friend and I both ordered our own sandwiches and they each came with a nice side salad. Both dishes came with VERY fresh ingredients and I've been craving to return since I first tried it Smoked salmon bahn mi - 10/10. It was so tasty even though it wasn't anything like what a traditional bahn mi is like. The lettuce and mint used in the sandwich were crunchy and super fresh and the pickled jalapeños used added a nice dimension to the sandwich Side salad - 8/10. I would have enjoyed it more but it was much too drenched with oil/lemon (not sure what they use here. It was good regardless but the dressing used was overwhelming)“
“I’ve been here a couple times. Good service and ambiance with a convenient parking lot and some street parking. I have tried the veggie and margarita as well as the Mac n Cheese specialty they have on Sundays. They were all delicious. I didn’t expect the Mac n Cheese to be good but had to try it and was pleasantly surprised. This is my new spot for slices!“
“My gf and I come here for our anniversary every year and every year the food is PERFECT, the service is PERFECT, and the ambiance is PERFECT. Shojin is the BEST vegan sushi I have ever had. Everything about this place is absolutely incredible. We are happy customers every time we eat here. THANK YOU Shojin!“
“This place is something else! The cakes and all bake good are delicious, soo tasty and keto friendly. I highly recommend it to anyone! Valentine's Day is coming, order now their specials, you will be in love ?.Thank you Fermentality you got me hooked ?“
“It's been a few years since we'd been here...why??!!! It was so great. Both the panang curry and yellow chicken curry are so flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Beautiful presentation as well! Kind customer service. Will be back soon!“
“From the first visit, Civitas has been our favorite ever since! Whenever we are out of town and try another coffee shop we always compare that coffee shop to Civitas. "Is it as good as Civitas?" The answer is very rarely a "yes". Our regular order is an unsweetened iced oat milk latte! And I would like to say that it doesn't give us "that first sip feeling", it gives us "that every sip feeling"! Wonderful baristas, delicious coffee, and reasonable prices! :)“
“If you haven't ordered a cake from here Go! NOW! They are so moist and delicious. We have ordered them at work for coworkers birthday and it comes with a sign and a bow. So festive and special. The cakes are also ready same day or you can order ahead. My favorite flavors are chocolate, lemon, and carrot.“
“Found this hidden gem last year! I can't even list everything they have just go! You will not be disappointed. Gluten free corn free dairy free etc. I don't know how she does it but it's all delicious! They will even put your name on a list and call you when they're making special things. Just go!“
“I love this place. Just remember weekends are super busy starting at 9:00am be patient and not to hungry ?.-the service is ? friendly-the atmosphere is so calm and nice make you feel fancy ?. $$ of course don’t get to surprise ?.-the food very tasty ??“
“These are the best cookies in LA I have found. I love that the outside has a crisp but the inside is gooey. I will say the best one, even though I am a chocolate chip person is their cookies and cream from the traditional menu. However, we have been here at least 7 times and my personal favorite is the game day cookie with a cream cheese center.Lately I don’t order unless there’s an option for the cream cheese center cookie. These cookies are special and they are not too sweet like Crumbl cookies. I tried those once and had to throw the box of 6 cookies away it was awful.“
“When I tell you I had a major craving for cinnamon rolls and went to my friend's who own this ultra delicious place.I walked away with Old School Classic Cinnamon roll and Carmel Apple ?Make sure you tell them Picasso Milano sent you and thank me later.“
“The superfood coffee from here is next level, had me feeling like Bradley Cooper in Limitless lol.. I’d probably get it everyday but in the name of fiscal responsibility I also got some coffee beans to make a slightly less potent but still tasty cup at home ?“
“There subs are delicious !!!!!! And sweet bread oh man everything there is delicious I just bought a small mocha tres leches cake hopefully it's good I count 3 ladies that work there that are beyond nice and have great customer service there are some old ladies that are straight out rude and look at you like you're dumb and they won't bother to ask you if you need help I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's not the other ladies fault that they want to be rude“
“obsessed! what a cute spot right on Sunset Blvd. it's hard to find restaurants w/ good vegan options & all the dishes here were phenomenal. particularly enjoyed the broccolini, mushroom & potato, green goddess salad, mushroom risotto!! the hummus was fire too. service was great , it's a total vibe inside. we came on a sunday night & it was jampacked. definitely coming back!“
“I am so confused by these reviews regarding the owner. I received nothing but the best from Leslie. She was not available on our wedding date and I was really sad about it but she suggested I have the cake delivered the day before. It was so great of her to fit me in and work with me to make sure I got the best damn cake for my wedding. I wasn't sure I wanted a cake but when she sent me samples I literally wanted to have a 6 tier cake so we didn't have to choose. It was some of the best cake I have ever tried! All were amazing. We went for banana creme and coconut passion fruit which were BEYOND. So sad she doesn't have a store front anymore! Will definitely be ordering cake for every anniversary if she will let us!“
“I had chicken waffles and a burger, and the server was very friendly I think the chicken would taste better if it was slightly salty and without the seasoning (false?) haha. The atmosphere is nice and clean, but the parking lot is a bit small.“
“If you’re particular about your Matcha you will find that Midori Matcha matches your expectations. They use ceremonial-grade matcha so the colors are vibrant and the flavor is well-rounded. I felt that their matcha had a little kick to it, very subtle but it was that note presented itself at the very end of a sip.Their prices are very reasonable at $6 for a matcha latte and $3 for their matcha ice cream. It’s a beautiful establishment, the interiors are wooden and inviting. The shop is located right across a water fountain and has plenty of seating inside and outside. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. It’s one of my favorite places downtown to grab authentic matcha ?“
“Some of my favorite yellow curry and pad thai around! I always get the peanut sauce to add to my noodles. They always remember to fry the tofu when I put it in the description. I usually doordash but I walked in the other day and it was so nice inside! My only wish would be to have a little more rice come with the curry.“
“I love donuts. They are delicious, enriched, simple and affordable. It is what all donuts should be. This shop lives up to that expectation. The yeast donuts are fluffy and have a subtle crunch from the cooking process. The croissants are huge and generously filled. The jalapenos had a nice kick. The owners a husband and wife were both in the shop. She handles transactions with good customer service and he loaded the case. It's a labor of love and much respect to this donut shop in Long Beach. It is worth the visit for a solid donut and coffee.Parking: It was raining and early when I went. Parking could be difficult when all businesses are open.“
“Came here after a long road trip with a big group and had an amazing experience! Great menu selection, and server helped recommend what to order, what dishes, vegetables, meats, noodles etc. Food came out quickly, they gave us a little cart for everything. They frequently came to clear empty dishes and help if we needed to order more. I highly recommend the scallion crispy pancake! The sauces are great, even better when mixed. The soup tasted great and we took some home too :) Highly recommend this place.“
“This is a very cute breakfast place. The ambience and service was perfect. We had the waffles and avocado toast and both tasted really good.Docking a star because they didn’t have a working espresso machine which is not a good look for a breakfast place.Service was painfully slow as well.“
“First time and experienced top notch service!!! I love this bread! The rosemary bread is my favorite so far! A great local wholesale bakery in an industrial park behind a shopping center in Santa Fe Springs near Carmenita and Telegraph Road. The community was in love with the wonderful smell in the air that the owner decided to include retail sales.I found out about this bread through The Bee Hive, a wonderful restaurant in Whittier. No more bread from the local supermarket or farmers’market. This is the place to go if you live close by or just want to adventure!“
“The menu is clearly labeled with calorie counts and macronutrient breakdowns, making it incredibly convenient for those on specific dietary plans. The staff is also knowledgeable and can offer suggestions for modifying dishes to better meet your nutritional needs. Whether you're on keto, paleo, or just trying to eat cleaner, this place has got you covered. Highly recommend for anyone serious about their health and fitness goals!“
“I stopped at this Korean influenced coffee shop on my way between LA and the court in Westminster. Obviously the name is a little...uh...unusual but when you walk in its clearly a coffee shop with food. Big interior with plenty of space to sit. Eclectic, Korean influenced drink menu. My cappuccino was very good. Some exotic Korean pastries, a sausage embedded croissant(pictured) and like savory cheese buns? I would need to be in a mood for one of those. Instead I got an almond croissant, which looked pretty standard but turned out to be quite delicious. Like unexpectedly delicious. It was empty at 8 am, hopefully they get a student crowd at some point?Vegetarian options: CroissantDietary restrictions: Bread and coffeeParking: Free shopping center lot.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“A delightful little spot that serves three kinds of sangrias but has also a full selection of hard liquor. There's seating at the bar but also general inside seating as well. With tons of natural lighting it is as its patrons, quiet and thoughtful. A peaceful little pocket world self-contained, a tick away from the noise, the relentless sounds of hustle & flow, just right outside its closed door. You could write here, alone on your laptop creating observing the every day ordinariness of nice people living their best lives, have a real conversation with another person you cared about, maybe even a stranger, someone new who initially wanted to know only what that wonderful looking salad you were having was...Or just sit quietly with no need for words simply enjoying good food, the comforting solitude of your own company and the silence, having no external interaction at all. I forget that sometimes; how nice it is to be still, completely indulgent of the serenity found only in silence. You can do that here. If you want.I had a delicious 'Donner' salad, long island ice tea and the most splendid conversation since like I just said, I forget, I mean A Lot, I confess, how nice it is to be silent ;o)This is one of what I hope will be many little gems here in DTLA I get to discover. I will most certainly be back. If you stop in ask for Shona, she's the other very attractive mixologist behind the bar.“
“Came across this cute little cafe / corner bakery near down town LA. Right across from the mariachi corner. So glad I decided to drop in and try it. You know I'm big on customer service and this place does not disappoint! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with smiles, and such warmth from all the employees. They have all the Mexican favorites. I tried their Horchata latte, Yum. couldn't leave without tasting the pan dulces , yum yum. The molletes, Yum yum yum and my favorite was the wedding cookies, yummiest ! They open early and close late so I'll definitely be coming back. If you're looking for a taste a Mexico , amazing treats , great coffee and excellent customer service, you found it . La Monarca bakery and cafe.“
“A really great cafe that has good coffee and sandwiches. My favorite is the maple pecan coffee. So delicious. They also have a lot of vegan options which is nice. The staff is very nice and bring a smile to my face. They go the extra step to give you a good experience.“
“Nice simple area inside Dover Street Market. I was told that the menu changes weekly. I am a new fan. I really enjoy the dining possibilities offered per menu per chef. Vegetarian food, so it is nice and light for brunch or coffee & cake time while shopping the store. Many thanks to Chef Denise for the meal. 10/10 Card only Indoor/Outdoor seating“
“A coworker brought some mamon with cheese pastries and they were delicious! The sponge cake was nice and soft, and perfectly sweetened (not too sweet). The cheese added a nice savory contrast to the cake. I definitely want to try their other breads and pastries!“
“Boysenberry Festival at Knotts' is delicious. This bakery has many choices of boysenberry treats such as pies, cookies, lemon bars, turnovers, bung cakes and more. Really hard to choose from cause they all look so good. I purchased a slice of boysenberry pie and it was delicious. I tried to get an iced coffee with it but they didn't have any. They do serve hot coffee drinks if you need a coffee break. The ambiance here is nice, lots of outdoor seating right by the Ghost Rider roller coaster. The service was ok just like any other place at a theme park. The perfect place for a midday snack break.“
“I am disabled and there were no parking spaces available for my lift to get out of my van on my scooter. I called in my order and the nice lady said that she would bring it out to me. Well, it was lunchtime and the place was packed. I tried to call and let the desk I was ready to pick up my food. The line was busy, then I held on for 15 minutes. Finally a really nice man stopped after I waved him over. I asked if he could tell the to go people I was there. He came back and said that I was supposed to call back with my credit card number. He saw my card in my hand. He asked if I would trust him to pay for and bring back my food. He did and I thanked him profusely. Just wanted to share a story about a nice man and our food that was delicious! I recommend Katella Deli. It is expensive but worth it.!♡“
“This is a great little place. Central to a lot of trains downtown, next to the Biltmore. If you're anywhere within about 3 or 4 blocks you should definitely make the walk. They brew la colombe coffee. Decent. My girlfriend got a child which is really good, I got the blueberry scone very good not too sweet, cheese danish was also very good.“
“I just love it here! Ivy is the best hostess ever! The food is also affordable and delicious. The lemon pepper wings, the avocado egg rolls. Chip & Dip trio, the cinnamon roll pizookie are some of my favorites. I also love the Tito's Lavender Lemonade. And last but not least Jimmy my server/bartender is just amazing!“
