I’m not a fan of beans but they’re very similar to my grandmothers (they’re not fried beans). The potato salad is addicting too, it’s really my guilty pleasure and the last thing we run out off. The chicken was good and had good flavor, the tamales have carrots, potatoes and peas inside. The pork though, it was pretty dry. The champurrado was really good. For a tamale fix I definitely recommend.”

The food is very good, they serve both Salvadoran and Mexican food. I have only tasted the Salvadoran food, pupusas, sopa de pata, traditional breakfast etc. the dining area is spacious and will accommodate a large family. If you want authentic tasting pupusas or Salvadoran food this would be the place to eat.

There is plenty of onsite parking for both the restaurant and the other business.”

“Took the husband to get a cheeseburger, fries and a drink. A combo, but dont order it as a combo, they don't have them. Items are individually priced. It was like $12 for a what is a large nice size cheeseburger, a healthy size order of fries and a regular drink. The burger is charbroiled, gives it a great taste, fries have always been delicious, I think they regularly change the oil so fries are always so good. I have a great nephew that absolutely loves the fries from here. Hadn't been here in years, for a while it was under renovation, but we're visiting my brother close by and the husband didn't like chile relleno, so i took him here.”

“I have been coming here since I was a child. 40 years later and all though, the workers have changed, the recipes really haven't. The bread is usually fresh, depending on the time you come in. The prices have gone up, the good old days when sweet bread was $0.10 - $0.25 and bolillo that was 4 for a dollar (5 on sale). Although the prices have changed with the times, I'm happy most of the bread tastes similar. I would suggest trying them out.”

Lately, I’ve noticed a new cashier, short brunette hair glasses, and she doesn’t know what you offer. 2 times, today being the second, I’ve come in and ordered the BLT wanting a side salad for my side dish and she has replied that you don’t offer it. Luckily, it was another lady in front who interjected and said “we do” and showed her where it was on register. Today I come in wanting a BLT w/side salad and with an unflattering tone said “we can’t do that”. I ask her does she remember us going over this the first time she says “no we don’t offer that here”. There was another lady there who was on the phone and I proceeded to wait until she got off the phone to ask her. When she sees me about to take it a step farther by asking someone else ONLY THEN she says “I guess we can do that.” She was trying to get me to pay an extra 6.99 for a side salad. I wonder how many who have gone through this who did not ask any further questions to someone different has this happened to. The lady gets off the phone and I ask her she states “yes, you can get a salad as your side.” I order an executive box with 3 cookies. As always, they forget to give me my cookies. I tell the cashier w/glasses they forgot to put cookies in. Do you know this lady has the audacity to say “let me check your bag” after she seen me checking bag as if I was lying trying to get free cookies. She says after throughly searching “you did not get 3 from here” pointing to basket. I say no. She says “ you can get three”. She didn’t say thank you after handing me my receipt, no greeting just NOTHING! She needs to learn the menu and improve her customer service immensely. I love coming here but I dislike after paying $14 for lunch, leaving restaurant in a sour mood d/t inept customer service.”

“They're located in Taco truck row next to the East Rancho Dominguez Park and library. I tried the spicy shrimp roll, and it was not spicy for me and actually wish they would have given me Sriracha or a more spicy chipotle dipping sauce. But it was decent enough to try more in the future. My fave spot for this type of Mexican sushi fusion is Emporio in Downey but this will be a quick, closer craving fix. I got my order to go. The rolls are $15 flat and I was encouraged to call ahead to order because it takes about 15 mins to make. There was no seating but there's a park next to it. I liked that they gave me carrots and green onions as well.
