“1st time at this location was on Father's Day. The wait was about 15 minutes. This was before church end rush. Seated by the business windows, got a whole view of the restaurant. Server was good, forgot a couple of items but natural we are all forgetful. Breakfast sandwich was big and filling. The kids slides were big and also filling. The chicken wings were ok, batter needs more seasoning. Come was hot and great. Grits were great. Tarter tots great too. Utensils are inside a mason jar. Another server mentioned to next time try the chilaquiles.”

“As you can see, I frequent this restaurant a lot. Lately, I’ve noticed a new cashier, short brunette hair glasses, and she doesn’t know what you offer. 2 times, today being the second, I’ve come in and ordered the BLT wanting a side salad for my side dish and she has replied that you don’t offer it. Luckily, it was another lady in front who interjected and said “we do” and showed her where it was on register. Today I come in wanting a BLT w/side salad and with an unflattering tone said “we can’t do that”. I ask her does she remember us going over this the first time she says “no we don’t offer that here”. There was another lady there who was on the phone and I proceeded to wait until she got off the phone to ask her. When she sees me about to take it a step farther by asking someone else ONLY THEN she says “I guess we can do that.” She was trying to get me to pay an extra 6.99 for a side salad. I wonder how many who have gone through this who did not ask any further questions to someone different has this happened to. The lady gets off the phone and I ask her she states “yes, you can get a salad as your side.” I order an executive box with 3 cookies. As always, they forget to give me my cookies. I tell the cashier w/glasses they forgot to put cookies in. Do you know this lady has the audacity to say “let me check your bag” after she seen me checking bag as if I was lying trying to get free cookies. She says after throughly searching “you did not get 3 from here” pointing to basket. I say no. She says “ you can get three”. She didn’t say thank you after handing me my receipt, no greeting just NOTHING! She needs to learn the menu and improve her customer service immensely. I love coming here but I dislike after paying $14 for lunch, leaving restaurant in a sour mood d/t inept customer service.”

“I long heard tales that this had the best burger in LA. I decided finally to visit on my birthday. It was 45 minutes to Compton and worth it. NOTE: It's easy to miss the storefront, The trick is to drive into the large parking lot just south of the storefront. I love the menu here because you can add an egg, pastrami, extra Patty and then there's choices of hot relish and sweet relish. Get both. This is Mama's place and Mama is the best, incredibly friendly, generous and they serve great food. I haven't had chili cheese fries in 6 or 7 years and it was worth breaking that pledge to eat it here. It was so good. I think there's just a little hint of oregano in it that gives it a great flavor. That's unexpected. I ordered a double turkey burger with pastrami and everything on it but mustard and my companion got a double cheeseburger with everything on it. They were freaking outstanding and the price was right. It was so cool to see people who were regulars just coming and going. I'd eat here too because it's the cheapest burger that I've had in La that was decent, my companion noted that McDonald's is just a block away and the burgers. There are the same price but they're not the same quality at all. These are excellent burgers and My friend was like you have to wait like 5 or 10 minutes, but it's worth it because they're cooked right there and it's awesome. A mama let us eat in the table out back and gave us an extra fries and barbecue sauce on top of the chili cheese fries. She was so accommodating and so friendly and gave us a big hug before we left. Próxima vez, Mama!”

I ordered the meat (half pastor/half lingua) nachos. I think I expected either homemade nacho cheese sauce or cheese blend on chips then put under broiler to melt. what I got was canned nacho cheese sauce that had been thinned down with water as it was rather soupy. The chips sadly turned to mush due to the watery cheese sauce and the easily half cup of red sauce that was poured over the top. Sadly I cannot tell you if the meats were good because they were drowning in red sauce. For 14.00 I expected better quality. we will go back, I will order 2 tacos no sauce next time.”

The food is very good, they serve both Salvadoran and Mexican food. I have only tasted the Salvadoran food, pupusas, sopa de pata, traditional breakfast etc. the dining area is spacious and will accommodate a large family. If you want authentic tasting pupusas or Salvadoran food this would be the place to eat.

“All good but I went for some chicharron with cheese and what I disliked is that... 1-they have a lot of fat 2- they leave the pupusas on the grill for a long time which makes them toast, and number 3- I think they put a lot of salt or a lot of seasoning to the pork rinds since I tried them and I did like them but it did feel like they had a lot of salt and then since it has cheese, the cheese has salt I mean you should look at that in the pork rinds with cheese ??”
