Second visit, had to sit at the counter facing the grill. It was a well orchestrated "symphony!" They worked so efficiently and effortlessly ! I ordered the chicken fried steak (see picture) , perfectly cooked and the gravy was delicious, bits of sausage. Staff work so well together with smiles. Definitely will return!

Why do people in Concord not eat breakfast all the time at Sugar Plum ? Always so consistently good from omelettes, to pancakes and French toast, to oatmeal ! Everything ! The service is very professional and friendly, and very efficient ! The second oldest restaurant in Concord, great ambience and I highly recommend it !

We shared eggs benedict in a nice little diner. Lots of the food looked great. We decided to share something & agreed on a Benedict. Nice homemade(?) Hollandaise and eggs cooked perfectly. However, the homefries that were hyped on the menu were just ok. Not really anything different about them. There were a few pieces of bell pepper, but I ended up asking for hashbrowns as well, which were a bit greasy. Overall, a cute little diner, a place we would try again. But this meal was honestly for me a 3 out of 5.

Good clean, non-greasy and freshly made fare! Favorites are Monterey Chicken Sandwich, BLTA, Club with Avocado and Rueben. We ordered with sides of salads and fruit salads. Service was happy, pleasant and friendly. We were served very quickly. Always a favorite in our neck of the woods

Our favorite breakfast place! We come here around every 10-14 days (we live in Yolo County).Service is fast and super friendly, food is always hot and delicious. In a world full of 21st-century trendy/hipster overpriced mediocrity, Sugar Plum is blessedly mid-20th century old-school excellence. ♥️?

The chicken fried steak has the texture of ground beef. Not a fan of the mushiness. Gravy was good. Everything else was fine. Will probably try this place again but definitely not order the chicken fried steak.

One of the better diners I've been to in a while, flavor-wise. I got a BLAT, which was actually so good! Better than the one that you get at Digger's. The toast wasn't dry and the flavors actually stood out! We also tried their biscuits and gravy, which apparently Sugar Plum is known for. I thought it was really good, but I don't usually get biscuits and gravy. The customer service was good enough. They were efficient and got the job done. Not overly friendly but also not rude, so I'm glad for that at least. The place itself is a little worn down. The booths we sat at were definitely worn down. A lot bar seating, if you like that sort of thing.

We decided to have breakfast here. The pancakes here are extremely fluffy and crumble when you cut into them. They tasted like I was eating a dry crummy vanilla cake. Make sure you order your eggs well cause they will be extremely runny all over your plate. The bacon is extremely salty that it overpowered the taste. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead on 1 was the people that work here are awesome. I feel like the parking lot is horrible to get in and out it feels like the cars are facing the wrong way. The restaurant has an old charm warm feeling but when you get the bill it takes away everything, expensive and not good quality. My stomach has been acting up not sure if it was their food that caused it. I don't recommend this place and I will not be returning.

Looking for a local breakfast spot, this is the place. They serve everything on the menu" country breakfast" you could think of that would have come from "grandmas" kitchen. The portions are huge. I ordered a stack of 3 pancakes and bacon. I could only eat one of the pancakes and only half the bacon. The pancakes are huge!!! My breakfast companion also ordered pancakes and hash brown, needless to say, the hashbrowns were never touched. One breakfast to share between two people would probably work, depending on your appetite, would leave you very satisfied. The staff are friendly and polite. Plan your visit, allowing for wait time. A lot of locals fill the inside of this coffee shop early and take up all the seating. The line to get a seat spills out of the door unto the sidewalk. You can bypass the line by ordering online and picking it up.

Okay I've tried this diner 3 times now and it's been unsatisfactory I don't mean to be rude but I've had better at Dennys. The food is good portions but everything I've ordered has lacked flavor and quality. It's just not worth the time. But I will definitely say it is good for the older crowd.
