Went got breakfast burrito, it was fair, the atmosphere was peaceful, the service is what stood out, the lady was very patient while waiting for me to decide, had a friendly disposition while I inquired about the menu and spoke to me respectfully the entire time, no attitude or bad energy and when my order was served, asked if I'd like any condiments. 3-28-2024 5a.m.

Been here many times and it's always a good atmosphere no matter what time of day. Definitely a favorite location of mine. The food is always good, and especially the waters and drinks. The workers are good people and always have time for my questions about the menu.

Here's the skinny on Castañedas on 6th Street. First off, it's open 24 hours which is pretty convenient. The staff said they get kinda busy at 2 am full of party goers so go at your own risk in the late hours We ordered the carne asada fries and my kids loved them. I personally wish they were a little crispier so the crisp could hold up a little better to the mountain of ingredients that go on top. But my boys are too busy scarfing them down to know better. The salsa bar is pretty good. You get a good combination of spicy and mild salsas with your usual lemon, onions, and cucumber slices to go with your food. I've also ordered the torta de milanesa and a menudo which was pretty good as well. In short, they do a lot of different things fairly good. Give it a shot for a quick, late night bite.

I've tried a few Castaneda's Mexican food locations and I'd say this one is the weakest of them. The carne asada fries were burnt, and greasy when I received them.

I have eaten at the other location multiple times and I always get the same order (ranchero breakfast burrito or a cheese quesadilla). Today on Christmas I ordered a ham and egg plate with cheese from this location. Somehow I ended up with a soppy mushroom and ham egg drop soup with bean water and boxed rice. This was definitely the worst fast-food Mexican meal I have ever had. I hate mushrooms. Have no idea where the heck the mushroom came from... But the three bites I took after picking mushrooms were like eggs poached in mushroom juice. Had to throw $12 in the trash
This place is tucked in a corner across the street from city hall and has plenty of parking nearby. You can either be a lazy person like myself and drive through, or dine in. The place itself is a bit quiet but seems to be well taken care of. Friendly staff btw! I really enjoy that everyone is personable and are glad to see you. I have yet to receive bad service from here and I come frequently for their breakfast burritos. The breakfast burritos are killer! You get a huge portion at a very fair price point. I actually like this place a lot better than their competitor that's a few businesses away. The salsa also is really good and they have plenty of menu items. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area and need a quick bite.

Just my personal solid spot for late night carne asada fries. Has never done me wrong, but I am also bias since I have lived in the area for awhile and just always go here. I do prefer their carne asada fries for late night over Alberto's that's off of Ontario Ave.

I was the only customer in there. It took the guy a long time to acknowledge me. He never said a word to me. Instead he got a lady to take my order. When I got my food it was cold. Why? If I'm the only customer? First & last time I'll give them my money.

Was quoted a price over the phone by another location when I got there was charged a whole different price the food had no authentic flavor. I'll try again and see if things have changed and either edit or Re-do.
