grabbed a To-Go order to try something different than what we usually get to eat- super good! Boudin balls were perfect, the dipping sauce was good! jambalaya was just what my soul needed on a rainy night. Fish and chips were decent but idk if anything can compete after the first two things I tried. would order again! Owner was also super kind.
Always a pleasant experience. The jambalaya is truly excellent. Tried the cornbread today; perfect.
A favorite of ours. We always enjoy the great food, great view and outstanding service.

Schmidt's House of Jambalaya is a restaurant known for its delicious and fresh jambalaya, featuring tender and non-fishy shrimp. The boudin balls are expertly cooked and come with a satisfying sauce that enhances their flavor. This small, charming place offers a beautiful view of the beach while dining. Service is quick and friendly, making for an enjoyable experience. They provide a selection of great local beers and reasonable prices. Recent diners have praised the food as hot, fresh, and made from quality ingredients. Many have stated that the jambalaya is bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned, with some calling it the best they have ever tasted. Guests have also enjoyed the shrimp bisque and Po'boys, noting the great atmosphere complemented by jazz music. Although the boiled crayfish appetizer is enjoyable, it may not be enough for a full meal, as it contains limited edible meat. Overall, this unassuming spot is worth a visit for its rich and flavorful jambalaya, hot, well-seasoned crayfish fritters, and the welcoming atmosphere it provides, including being pet friendly.
