Their food is 4 stars, while service is zero. They serve people as if we owed them one million dollar.

Great food, chill place! You get a discount or some for paying cash instead too!Vegetarian options: There are *some* veggie options but I don’t know too well. I always go for beef and soups lol.Parking: Big lot and you can park pretty much anywhere. In front of the shop if you’re lucky.

I arrived around 11:15 pm and was told "already closed" by the waiter. The display light still shows "open" and the business hours on Google and their website shows close at 12:00 am M to S. You can't tell the customer "already closed" 45 minutes before your announced close time. Will never come again.

Food is ok but the service is bad. Come over if you just enjoy the food and don’t mind waiter’s being rude to you.

Food was okay. *BEWARE OF SCAM*I gave a tip, they gave themselves an extra tip on top of that. Always double check your receipt and bank statement if you come eat here.Food is okay. Not bad, but nowhere close to Cafe Bakery in SF.

I give a one star due to FOOD SAFETY concerns. Had diarrhea several times after having this. They never clean the pans, you can find food leftovers from the previous dish they cooked in the same pan.

Bare minimum service. Taste is not up to the mark. I did not like the taste of shrimp on rice.

12/26/2023It's been a while since I came back. I didn't like some of the dishes so I stopped coming. However, things have improved.蝦醬牛鬆炒飯 - 牛鬆means minced beef. Not here. They cut into very small pieces so the texture is very different. Also lack of shrimp paste flavor. They need to at least double it to make it taste stronger.鐵板黑椒餐肉公仔麵 - The noodle is a little bit soggy. Also prefer to have more black pepper flavor.焗豬扒飯 - This one was the surprised because I gave up on them long ago cause they refused to battered the pork chop to make it pork cutlet before. Surprisingly, this time regular baked pork chop over rice is with fried pork cutlet. That makes a big difference. The tomato sauce ain't bad neither. With a little improvement, this can be a go to HK style restaurant at least for those who likes the above dishes.

If you are looking for comfort Hong Kong food, this place offers the standard fare. The silky egg with shrimp had a good amount of sauce to rice ratio. They have combo dishes with a drink. Usually, we get nai cha milk tea. It could have had more condensed milk, but the tea is nice and strong. I love a good salt, pepper, fried dish. We chose tofu and enjoyed the crisp exterior and the soft, hot temperature interior. It's the alternative to the pork chops I usually get. They offer 3 dish set menus for around $40, so its good for family style meals. We weren't that hungry, but it's good to keep in mind for next time. Plenty of space for small and bigger groups. Not a fancy place but a homely place.

My first time at Local Cafe I randomly chose the Hainan Chicken. The chicken is yellow, cold and cut in a boney way. I didn't like it but it was so strange that I knew it must be some famous dish or style. I'm glad I came back and my favorite dish right now is the shredded chicken.

My takeout container had a thick layer of dust on top. Combined with the steam from the hot food it was very gross. The food was okay (pork chop with onion sauce). It didn’t have much flavor but it was more or less what I was expecting. I chose pasta as a side expecting it to come in some sort of sauce, but it came plain. I don’t even think it was salted.Decent portion for $22, all things considered. There were 3 slabs of meat swimming in the sauce.Next time I feel like eating some HK style food I think I will cook it myself.

This restaurant seems to be only one serving “egg drop soup” that I was looking for. The soup was with chicken and and corn and it was tasty. Chow fun chicken noodles were good too. Portions are family style and big.
