Sheng Kee has been my go-to the past few months. My mom and I always come back for more of the Taiwan Toast when we run out. It's probably one of my favorite breads right now. The chew is so nice, and it's so consistent! A couple of my other favorite items would be the cocktail buns, the pork buns, the hot dog buns, the pork floss buns and also the whole wheat Taiwan toast. The service here is pretty quick, just as long as you know what you want. This location as well as all others are very grab and go with a little bit of seating out doors (including the benches in Cupertino Village). There usually isn't a wait from the times I've been and that's almost always during the weekday. I'd hate to swing by on the weekend when things are chaotic and breads are sold out.

Sheng Kee used to be my favorite bakery since I was a child. We almost got all of our birthday cakes here. Unfortunately, recent experiences at this Sheng Kee have not been pleasant. The customer service is next to none. The cake tastes different (not in a good way) and their hygiene has gotten worse than before. I'm not sure if it was a change of ownership or if the store is going downhill, but we will not come back. So sad to see this bakery decline. Btw, they don't provide free candles for birthday cakes anymore (sad)

Interesting and unique bakery goods coming from a white man's perspective. I was staying at a nearby hotel that didn't have breakfast so I was looking for a quick bite to eat nearby. This place caught my eye. Went in and was taken back by all the amazing sites and smells. Each item individually packed and in bright display cases if we were looking at wedding rings. I watched a woman behind me rush in and grab a try by the door. I copied her and started grabbing anything that caught my eye. Amazing soft and chewy textures coming from all baked goods. The only ones I wasn't a fan of were the German pie (eggy) and the chicken pie (just tasted like onions). The others were great and I would get again.

The workers are extremely rude in this bakery, especially that new female worker. Staff have no manners and will brazenly ignore you. The energy is so off that I think they either hate their jobs or feel insecure about selves and project those negative feelings outwards to the customers. Products are ok but there are many bakeries around. Will not return if I don't have to.---------------This bakery is going downhill......

How time flies, I can't believe it's been seven years since my last review of this spot. Sheng Kee cakes are still the default option for all family birthdays, but the quality of the taro cake especially is no longer the same. In fact, it's become a birthday tradition to talk about how the cake experience gets a bit worse every year. Factors that have been called to attention include cake price going up, lack of purple frosting, sponge being dry on the inside, taro filling being too grainy, and noticeable cracks up and down the sides. The 2024 taro cake was especially disappointing as it had cracks throughout the frosting which we later found out was due to the full cake being formed from multiple slices of taro cake put together. Every year we say that we should get cake from a different place but every year we default back to this one. As far as price goes, the taro is the most expensive full size cake sold here but compared to the market price for a cake of the same size it's on the more affordable side. I do miss the signature purple frosting but I can turn a blind eye to everything except for the fact that full cakes are being reformed from individual cake slices.

Ham and cheese on super soft bun was what I had for breakfast and though it satisfied my hunger, I wouldn't return to get it again. The bread is extremely soft and therefore questionable based on my experience with bread and the egg was rubbery. Paying for cash only was also inconvenient.

Aroma of all the freshly baked bread will draw you in. Then you'll see all the delicious classic savory and sweet Asian breads, and your eyes will pop and mouth water. Soon as you see the prices you'll leave with a bag full of goodies to share with the whole family. Absolutely awesome!

I do not recommend this cake shop. The cream cake is very stale. The cake I ate at night had not thawed cream and the texture would not taste good even if it was thawed. Birthday cake But we didn't get anything else. The staff don't care everything. Unprofessional clerk.

Sheng Kee has been my family's go-to sweets spot since I can remember. I've probably tried every single flavor there is and I'm still coming back for more! All of their bread is fluffy and delicious, and their pastries are flaky and scrumptious. Their cakes have also been the centerpiece for many of my birthdays--tiramisu, matcha, and chocolate. If you're feeling sweet or savory, a quick snack or fancy cake, their asian pastries do not disappoint. Some of my favorites are the green onion bun, curry beef turnover, and taro or custard pineapple bun.

Do yourself a favor and you deserve better bakery than this one. Food was not fresh at all, have strong feeling it’s factory processed, and being on the shelf for days, instead of being made in local kitchen fresh. Service was horrendous too. The moment i tasted it i immediately wanna return the rest of the food, and cannot because of their policy “even expired food sold is not returnable”. Glad i made the purchase through credit card.

If you manage to brave the evil 8am traffic, you're welcomed into a parking lot that seems almost too empty. I've been there before though, later times are always bustling. I entered the bakery and found that they were still putting breads and desserts out, which I didn't mind. They do open at a pretty early time, after all. All around were neatly organized cubicles of breads and desserts ready for you to take for breakfast or lunch, or whatever craving you need fulfilled. But me? I came here with one goal: Pudding. I ordered ~10 puddings, adding up to about 50 dollars with the odd bread or milk tea mooncakes(delicious and novel, by the way). Each of them are rich, yet subtle on the flavor. In strong consideration of entering the hall of GOATs for "Pudding". :)

Excellent bakery with lots of goodies that I don’t get where I live in New England. Enjoyed everything I bought and I did buy a lot. ☺️

Actually,I haven't come this bakery store over 10 years, and I felt it's totally different.Food quality, it's really not worth the money you spent. Almost every item's selling price went up double than before, but quality lower and lower than before. Service from store clerks, price went up, service went down. Asked question from clerks, just got very rude and impatient responds.Ambiance at this store not letting customers feeling well, signages too vague and masses, not friendly for customers.Product quality, when selling price went up so high, product size smaller, cake filling only 70%, fruit decoration less, cream thinner, kind of cheating all customers.Really not worth to purchase anything from this bakery store!
