Mokkoji is my fave place on earth !! I My all time fave is the spicy pork bone broth, and if I wanna switch it up i'll do the spicy sukiyaki. The meats are all good, you cant go wrong depending if you want something more fatty then toro is your choice, otherwisr the mokkoji cut is good for something more lean. I love shabu and this spot is my go to every time :)
We came as a family of 4 at 5pm on Saturday and got seated at the bar immediately, however within 5 minutes the place was full with people waiting outside. We shared the 32 piece flat iron which was just enough for my husband and me. We probably could've eaten more but shouldn't. Refill veggies only come with bok choy and kale and other greens, no carrots or squash. Food was very flavorful and quality of meats and sauces was great. Food is excellent. Some staff are friendly, some look miserable to be there. Better to get there early! They do get busy fast during lunch/dinner hours. My go-to menu is the marinated beef belly (toro) with either sukiyaki or chicken broth. Taken few of my friends there and they absolutely love this place. Party of 2 must sit at the bar and 3 or more, tables. Writing this review is making me hungry. I'm going tomorrow lol
