Came for dinner while visiting some friends at UC Davis, and I loved it! We came around 6:30pm on a Saturday and were able to find a table for the 4 of us even though it was pretty full with guests. You order at the front by the bar and then seat yourself. They have a self serve chips and salsa bar, which was very tasty and kept us busy while we waited for the food, which didn’t take too long. The quesabirria tacos were delicious - melty cheese, tender melt-in-your mouth beef, and deeply flavored consome to dip it in. I also really enjoyed the Al Pastor and chicharrón street tacos - both meats were very well seasoned and cooked. Would definitely come back here again if I’m ever in the area!

I've been coming to Guad's for over 3 years now and recently there's been one employee (short girl with bangs) that continuously asks about how many chip refills I am getting and whether there's actually water in my water cup. She has approached me three times at this point on separate occasions and it's enough to make me never want to come back. This kind of service is so frustrating and rude especially when I'm spending around $20 each time I come here. We ordered meals for multiple people to-go and also got 4 bags of chips to-go from their self serve bar. She let us know to check that our chip bags match with our how many orders we placed. As a business please check your employees' attitudes. Don't have a self serve if you're micromanaging how many chips I'm allowed to eat as a paying customer.

It's a pay at the counter, self seating, but they bring you your food type of spot. They have complimentary chips and salsa which are all super spicy if you dig that. The cousins ordered a variety of 3-4 tacos each. I ordered a shredded chicken super burrito with red sauce. The burrito was massive but delicious. I had the hubby help me finish it. The refillable horchata was a nice and refreshing.I wouldn't quite say it was a favorite but it hit the spot.

Used the time to go to the salsa bar where there is pico, limes, lots of salsas options, unlimited chips and a station to pick up utensils and napkins. There is no hostess or waiters, so find a table where you can as it's a popular place. There are people who come around and remove finished plates and wipe tables. I went on a Saturday and almost all tables were taken.Environment: the staff was very patient, polite and communicative. Davis people are always so nice. We sat at a table of 3, but were just two and someone and can and asked for the chair very politely. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny fall day. Nice views and very peaceful area. Con: since there is no waiter you have to order at the counter. The line moved fast. There is a tv behind the counter you can watch sports while you wait in line, or grab a menu and start planning your meal. Will definitely be back!
Visiting Davis for the first time over parents weekend and was elated to find good tacos.I brought my kid and 2 roommates and we crowded around a table and dug in. They all loved it. So happy to find this place.

Good tacos, good beer, fast service, and a short walk from a nice park to picnic in if you have overactive children or dogs in your life. Otherwise they have a nice indoor and outdoor space to eat as well.

Guads doesn't disappoint. It's a reliable, Mexican style restaurant near campus that everyone loves. The service is quick and the menu has good variety without being overly expensive. It's best feature is the complimentary chip bar which stays well-stocked even during the rush. It can sometimes be difficult to find seating and I've noticed the guac quality is spotty.

Happy with everything I ordered and wanna go back so I can try all the different unique tacos they haveThe cashier who helped us was very kind and funnyMy only problem is that the place was a little small especially considering how popular it is, I just wished there was more spaceBut once you sit and eat everything is good :)
