I finished shopping at Trader Joe's and pumping gas at Arco near by. I was trying to decide what I was going to eat for lunch. Shah's Halal Food truck was a few yards away and caught my eye! Score!!! I walked up and was kindly greeted by the man at the counter. I ordered the lamb over rice. My food was handed to me in a paper bag at the side window, not too long after I paid. There was no more than a 2 minute wait. Once I grabbed my food, the man asked me what drink I wanted. Options were canned Pepsi or diet Pepsi, or water. Pepsi it is! I was excited smelling my delicious food through the bag. The lamb was calling my taste buds! Once I got back into my car, I took a few bites before I pulled out of the parking lot. Delicious!!! The rice was well cooked and flavorful, not sticky nor overcooked. The lamb was well seasoned and cut into into cubed, bite size pieces over the rice and lettuce. The sauce gave it a nice savory and spicy (I was asked if I want my food spicy when I ordered at the window) taste to it. I couldn't put my spork down! I definitely will order from Shah's again the next time I am in Davis. Thanks for lunch :)

Best food truck ever! I've been coming to this food truck since I was a student and haven't stopped going since. I ask for extra sauce every time and with spicy! There's a ton of flavor packed into this simple bowl. Only chicken and lettuce but you will not be disappointed. Usually there's only 1 or 2 guys working and if it's super busy, it might take a little longer but it's worth the wait. I haven't been able to find another place that does it better.

Shah's Halal is one of the best food trucks around Davis. This was a staple when I was at UC Davis and I often stop by when I'm passing Davis. They never disappoint with their portions and it always tastes amazing and fresh. The meat is always juicy and well seasoned and the rice is fluffy and never clumpy. They are reasonably priced and always pile on the food high. The service is great and you get your food very quickly. They have a location on campus and just outside of campus at the U Mall. The mall is currently under construction so they part by the gas station on the corner. I'm not sure about this, but it used to be that the food truck off campus was a little cheaper because they didn't have to pay for the food permit on campus. This place never disappoints and always fills those cravings!

Honestly will drive 3 hours to get this place. I moved to the bay and crave this place everyday. The chicken over rice is my favorite with some spice. They give free water or soda too which is so nice. I would give up my house for this chicken over rice.

Pretty clean halal option in the middle of UC Davis campus. Lamb gyro over rice slaps, and never too oily or greasy. Quick service too can get your food in less than 5 minutes.

Rain, hail, heat, sun, electricity outages--I've seen Shah's so consistently throughout every quarter I've been at Davis. How do they do it?? No one knows. When I eat gyro I feel like I am wrapped up in a warm pita. Thanks Shah's.
