Il Fornaio is a solid upscale chain. It was our first time at this location and the third floor setting in Del Mar Plaza didn't disappoint with a memorable sunset view. Their calamari fritte is excellent. We also enjoyed the veal and seafood pasta. Cheesecake dessert was a lovely finish. Shout out for excellent bar service while waiting for our reservation. I came in last week and my server Gena was so amazing, I genuinely felt like it was the best service Ive ever had. Its rare when you have a server at a restaurant that makes your experience so happy and shows you a good time. I feel like I wouldve had such a different experience if she wasnt my server.
