“We came by early Saturday morning & it was pretty busy! There is plenty of street parking and a parking lot in the back that is part of the apartment complex. It was hard to choose just a few items because they all looked so good. We got the Cookies & Cream donut & the Mango Crème donut - both were filled with a delicious, light/thin cream. The Caprese bun was pretty average but it is nice that the pesto is nut-free! The Churro, Dulce de Leche donut was a delicious not-too-sweet sugar donut. My favorite was the Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit - not spicy, had a crunchy exterior and a soft interior. The donuts & biscuits all range from $4-$7 each. I definitely want to come back for the Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuit & to try the other menu items!“

“My friend and I stumbled upon Shekoh Confections purely by chance, while we were strolling the streets of Palo Alto during a business trip from Florida. We found the shop to be inviting and staff very friendly and informative. The delicacies were superb - we tasted a couple and decided to purchase three boxes - mine were meant to be gifts for family members. Unfortunately, a day after the purchase I had an accident and ended up in a LA hospital - and gave the chocolates away to my incredible nurses who took such good care of me. The nurses raved about the treats and I shared the shop's information with them. “If y’all don’t know about Ada’s, y’all should — because they got one of the BEST coffees around town. They are locally sourced and get the most organic beans, and make the BEST pastries. And best of all, they are a 501(c)3 non-profit social enterprise running in the heart of Palo Alto. I work at Cubberley not far from Ada’s, so I have been coming by often and supporting.A big shout out goes to Kathleen, the owner and founder of Ada’s Cafe — she’s absolutely humble and very caring at every customer. She goes above and beyond in support of not only the neurodivergent community, but also for the communities in need in Palo Alto.I ordered a 16oz latte with whole milk on a Friday — and they honestly served it with SO much love and so much belonging. It truly felt like I was at home, but 10x better. The beans had flavor, and the whole milk wasn’t overly saturated. I also appreciated how much love and consideration they put in the croissant sandwich as well, because the ingredients were fresh and not too sweet or too salty at all.It is located next to the Palo Alto Library, and they do close early at 4pm. There is limited indoor seating, but there is a variety of things you can choose from. I would definitely recommend supporting a local business like Ada’s and having your bestie brunch dates here too.Vegetarian options: They have some things you can ask for vegetarian! “We regularly come here for our pie fix. To be honest, before Pie Dreams I wasn't the biggest pie person. But the butter pie crust here is sooo good. I also love that that rotate flavors pretty regularly which is a good reason to come back and try something new. We've probably tried almost all the flavors already. Our favorites are the hand pies - anything with apple honestly. Recently they've got the blackberry apple which is a delicious combo of tart and sweet flavors. I've also gotten their savory pies and more recently got the Mama Lo's Mechado to bake-at-home. I will say the price was a bit steep, but I enjoy supporting local businesses and their flavors are good. In the future I'd probably just stick with their usual sweet pies though. My favorite regular pie is probably the French silk pie or caramel apple pie. The owner's kids are often handling the register and they're friendly. There are some tables indoors so you can enjoy your pie immediately if you'd like. It'd be nice if they offered in house drinks in the future, I think it'd up the ambiance a bit more. “I LOVE these cookies. I’ve never liked cookies because they are always “fake” tasting, too hard, no flavor etc. However, when I stumbled upon Sara’s a year ago, I’ve been hooked! To whoever said they were “crunchy” and “lacked flavor” you’re completely wrong. The reason I like her cookies is because they are soft and chewy and melt in your mouth. “I’ve been gluten free for 15 years, and it has been rough. But I have made the most of it by searching for gluten free treats everywhere I go. I’ve had gluten free pastries in dozens of cities including London, Florence, Madrid, Sacramento, Lahaina, and Austin. Other than the now shuttered Helmut Newcake in Paris, Sweet Diplomacy is my favorite of all time (and only 20 minutes away!). If you have tried baking gluten free you know pastry (choux, puff, flakey) is really hard to do. This place gets pastry and cakes as close to wheat flour as it gets. I enjoy all of the offerings but I’m most impressed by the pastry. The cream puffs OMG. And today I tried the tiramisu for the first time (it knocked my socks off).The coffee is excellent, and I love their cupcake varieties and cookies but my stomach is only so big.I personally do not reach for the vegan offerings but this is because I don’t need to (give me butter!!). “I don't want to call myself an eggtart connoisseur.. but I kind of am. Self proclaimed, of course. I've been everywhere in search of the perfect egg tart. Theres golden gate bakery, lung fung, CA bakehouse, kee wah, the list goes on and on. Rola has some fantastic egg tarts. What sets them apart from the rest is the unique shape, soft silky custard, and crumbly crust. The egg tart is tall rather than wide which gives you a unique ratio between filling vs. crust. The silky custard is just heavenly- its rich and milky with a slight egg flavor.The crust is similar to a soft cookie, not so much the flaky pie crust. Each egg tart is about $3 and they offer different flavors however the original egg tart was my favorite. Mochi cake- Many of the reviews mentioned this item so I decided to give it a shot. I found this dessert to be just ok. You get a lot of different textures: chewy from the mochi, starchy from the ube, soft and fluffy sponge cake, and of course salty from the pork floss. I am a total fan of the sweet and savory combo but it felt a bit heavy and I didn't enjoy it after a few bites. Ube cheesecake - THESE WERE SO GOOD. If you love cream cheese or cheesecake, definitely get this. They have real ube and you can really appreciate the taste rather than that artificial ube flavor. The cheesecake is so creamy and cheesy. It comes with 4 small little sandwiches so no need for a knife and fork. I would definitely get this again. Service was good. The lady at the cashier was quite chatty and took the time to make a personal connection with each customer. Some people might find that annoying if they intended to buy something real quick but I, as a health care worker, enjoyed the personable approach. The interior is clean and decorated simply to give off a cute cafe vibe. Theres quite a bit of small tables inside but most of the customers did take out when we visited. I would go out of my way to drive to Fremont for the egg tarts and the ube cheesecake alone. The desserts are high quality and the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. Come check them out!“

The strawberry glaze and freeze-dried strawberries also added a nice touch. Would come back just for this. The almond croissant was pretty good but not amazing. The croissant itself was flaky and fluffy. The filling was good but personally thought there was too much filling so that's all you taste in eat bite. It's a little too overpowering and felt like I was mainly just eating that. 100% have to heat it up before eating -- otherwise, it tastes very mid. Overall, their desserts & pastries are yummy but don't think it's worth the drive here if you don't live in the area.“

Or maybe it’s swisschard - but either way, this is like a trifecta for me coz it conveniently bundles 3 food groups (protein, carb, + veggie) in a nice hand-held lunch portion for me.Plus everything here tastes SO good!But a couple of tips- they have a location in Menlo Park near the train station as a pop-up stand that opens & closes earlier than this brick & mortar site but usually seems to have more items.However, I think I personally prefer this site more coz:1) here u can get ur baked goods toasted (tastes sooo good heated up vs room temp in my opinion)2) parking is free here in the parking lot vs free parking in Menlo Park seems more limited3) actually this is the most important one for me since I tend to have a more sensitive stomach - this Los Altos Little Sky Branch takes food storage conditions seriously & properly, which I’m very grateful for. They follow the local food codes carefully & store their surplus mandos in the fridge/cooler & rotate out their mandos on display periodically. I confess I was a bit disheartened when I went to the Menlo Park location today & learned + saw all dozens of the mandos (including the shrimp + pork ones) were sitting outside from Sunday opening time/8 am - 12:50 pm, which I found odd since the 1st time I went to the Menlo Park location, they also regularly rotated out display Mondos & kept the rest in a cooler. Needless to say, since I love Little Sky Bakery’s stuff enough to buy in bulk & freeze (I discovered just about everything can be stored in the freezer for a long shelf life) - I didn’t feel it would be safe to buy the Menlo Park location’s meat-filled baked goods or at least the ones w/ seafood left out for that long to eat or freeze a bulk down to eat later … so I drove the extra miles to their Los Altos location (which had less mandos available) & bought as many mondos left as I could since I felt more reassured knowing they followed strict food storage temperature conditions & codes. The Los Altos location associates there are also super lovely & kind - knowing of my sensitive gut condition, they know my preferences & will usually pull the chilled mandos for me over the room temp ones whenever possible.“

Lots of parking available, especially during the weekday lunchtime. I stopped by to try it out after reading a friend's review and was able to try corned beef, lamb, and chop suey (like pancit) - it was all great and the prices are good too! They weigh everything by the pound so you can mix and match as needed - very home cooked family-style meal feel, and everyone was super nice (it's family-owned). I wish I had gotten to try their pineapple custard but they only make it select days of the week or you can call in an order (not sure if there's a minimum). I'll be coming back to try that someday!“

“You know a pizza place really takes orders seriously when you receive a follow-up call making sure that someone is on the way to pick up the food because they are worried that your food will get cold. I'm generally not a huge pizza fan, but a coworker discovered Emmanuel's amazing King Kong 40-piece square pizza and it's been a staple for us. It's a down-to-earth pizzeria that makes no-nonsense pizzas with the classic gamut of toppings (pepperoni, Hawaiian, veggies, etc.) The crust is fresh and fluffy, and doesn't get soggy beneath the cheese and toppings. I love the King Kong with its fanfare of the ginormous pizza box that barely fit through the passenger side door of my sedan, along with the square cut pieces which feel like a novelty and featured a delicious NY-style-esque thin-ish crust. Recently, Emmanuel's mentioned that the King Kong pizza was temporarily unavailable, so we got the regular round pizzas instead (slightly thicker crust, also hit the spot). We were also pleasantly surprised by the wings. It had a nice kick while still being edible for the non-spicy-tolerant. The exterior was baked to the perfect crisp. Service is efficient and friendly, prices are very reasonable, and the food is so solid that it still tastes good even when it has gotten cold. Emmanuel's an excellent choice for large groups... can't say no to an epic giant square pizza and wings!“
