“My wife had looked at a few menus before our trip to the Santa Monica Pier and had her heart set on the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Not wanting to order the same thing, I decided to try a Connecticut style lobster roll for the first time, and my son wanted some grilled white fish, so he got the kids rice bowl. All of us really enjoyed our meals and while yes, you're going to pay a little more because of the location, we thought it was a great value and a delicious meal!“

I had a traditional fish and chips and they served it with a bottle of malt vinegar on the side. That's how it should be and I was impressed! The food was great, entire group orders taken and served quickly with no short cuts, everything was prepared properly and tasted great. “My first review! My visit here last night was nothing short of a revelation in the art of sushi dining. Celebrating its 17th year, this gem of a restaurant has not just stood the test of time; it has set the bar for what authentic Japanese cuisine can embody. Though it is not your modern izakaya nor fine-dining luxury, it firmly facets itself as the "OG" restaurant in the diverse Japanese dining scene.Immediately upon entering, I observed details of its classic entity by old decos of art, calligraphy, signs, photos, and handwritten notes. It was an ambiance that exuded warmth. I immediately felt the history and dedication woven into the fabric of this place. The owners have crafted not merely a restaurant but a sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer nuances of Japanese culture and cuisine.I opted for the sushi combo course. Each piece of sushi was a testament to the chef's mastery over his craft, with every ingredient shining through in a delicate balance of flavors and textures with a properly curated course. All the nigiri boasted freshness in a blend of tastes that was above satisfactory by the plate. But what truly sets Sushi Anza apart is the heart and soul poured into every aspect of the dining experience. From the attentive, yet unobtrusive service to the meticulous presentation of the dishes, you can feel the love and dedication that the owners have for their craft. It's this personal touch combined with an "aged" ambience that transforms a meal into an experience. In a world where the genuine essence of Japanese cuisine can sometimes be lost amidst fusion and innovation, Sushi Anza stands as a beacon of tradition and quality.Overall, my first visit here was a nostalgic journey through the very essence of Japanese tradition, guided by the hands of those who know and respect it the most. I cannot recommend Sushi Anza enough and look forward to many more visits. I hope to regain the same authentic warmth, excellence, and quality that hallmarks the culinary gems of Torrance.“

I had a 2 pc, small Cajun rice, small soda and sweet potato pie for about $9. The sweet potato pie was great! I'll be coming back for sure, however this is located in the hood.“

“Catfish nuggets.....delicious. Fried snapper was good. This place is an order to go spot. Not a sit down and eat in restaurant. Will I go back next time I'm visiting LA? Absolutely. The only downside was they were out of potato salad. I would have liked to try that. My husband asked for macaroni salad and they gave him French fries....that wasn't a deal breaker though.“

Once I spotted it I had to dine in since I am familiar with the location in Long Beach on Redondo. The scenery is nice and relaxing. The restaurant is cute. The customer service was great. The place was clean, staff very friendly and the food was great. I was a little disappointed that they didn't serve alcohol. I think the Long Beach location does. My experience was still great.“

“I ordered a three piece lunch with catfish. I also ordered an order of fried okra. I've never eaten here before, but it's kind of a hole in the wall, and I have found that most holes in the wall have the best food! I was greeted warmly, and my order was taken took about 15 minutes. When I got my food, I was very happy. It looked exactly like what I wanted it to look like and then I took my first bite after dipping it in tartar sauce and I was ecstatic. It was delicious it hit the spot perfectly. The tartar sauce was delicious. They only gave me one and I had to go back and get another three pieces of fish really demands to tartar sauce is I went back and expecting to pay for it and he gave it to me. Don't think that they're going to do that for everybody though I was a first time customer you know and I would have paid for another one. The fish is cooked perfectly. The only thing I would say is a little bit more seasoning maybe some lemon pepper but the fish was good and tender. I ordered catfish and it was banging! When and if I am in the area, I will go there again!“

La Sirenetta Seafood •
13737 Fiji Way C1, Marina Del Rey - 4.06 miles

“I decided to eat at this restaurant to try seafood dishes in Fisherman's Village. The atmosphere of the restaurant is above average. Despite some flies hanging out in the tree near the restaurant, I can still see the scenic view from where we sat. For the food, I ordered a lobster roll with french fries, panzerotti (fried pizza), and Raspberry Ice Tea. I am still unsure whether the lobster roll is genuinely lobster due to the lobster-crayfish scandal shown in Inside Edition, but it tasted delicious, creamy, and fresh from the sea. I am highly confident the lobster roll genuinely contains real lobster. The panzerotti was hot when touching this oily dish, but it was cheesy and savory. The filling (ham, cheese, and tomato sauce) complemented together into a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Finally, the Raspberry Ice Tea was sweet and refreshing; I can look at the beautiful ocean while drinking it. The service in the restaurant was A-Level; it felt like a family restaurant to me. Overall, I enjoyed the meals in the restaurant. I would recommend everyone coming to Fisherman's Village to give a shot at this restaurant.“

“Expect a beach shack experience. Do not come here looking for a romantic setting or personal service. When you come in, you will get in a line and place an order. Drinks are ordered here as well. You can sit wherever you want and wait for your number to be called. You pick up your food and drinks from the counter. I think they have a great selection of seafood. I am super biased when it comes to Baja style shrimp tacos because I make my own and home, but this placed nailed it. They are not stingy with the protein and they are heavy with the toppings. The chipotle cream sauce is good but very spicy. Ceviche was awesome and again, plenty of protein on your tostada and a nice hefty serving of avocado. The miches were good! We had the chamoy mango and the tamarindo. You can order taco boxes and they also cater. Great selection of hot sauces.“
