I ordered a carbonara, which looked quite authentic from the ingredient list, but then the waiter suggested to add chicken to make it even better, which I found quite odd for an Italian restaurant. Anyway, went on and ended up ordering it. The dish came out very oily and with parsley. At this point I would suggest adding olive oil and parsley to the dish ingredients list on the menu to avoid future misunderstandings and give guests the right expectations.

This is a great neighborhood place with warm, friendly professional staff. The managers, bartenders, waiters staff and bus people are all excellent. The piano players add a really nice touch as well. We love this place. Oh yeah, the food and drinks are top notch as well!

Still a great place to eat. The food is wonderful. Starting to get a little expensive but worth it. We had a great dinner and will go back soon. Chicken Parmesan is the best there is anywhere. The lava cake is unbelievable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We love this place and when it is time for date night, this is where we go. The food is great and the service is always first rate. Kelsey was a terrific server. And Robbie's Eibs were great. We will be back!

My wife and I dined at Vigilucci's Steak and Seafood and it was wonderful, so we wanted to try Vigilucci's Trattoria. We had a 6:30 reservation for the main dining room, or so we thought. When we arrived, we were given an option of sitting on the patio outside (it was a cool evening), in an area behind the building which lacked ambience and felt cold, at a high top in the bar, or wait 15 minutes for a table to open up. We were hungry so we reluctantly agreed to the high top at the bar. Seats were low and table was at chest level. A door was open at the end of the bar, making it cold at our table (they closed it upon request). We were not offered any bread while waiting for our order. It turns out that bread is only served on request, though at Vigilucci's Steak and Seafood, we were offered without request. We asked for recommendations and decided on the lasagna, which came out lukewarm. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the experience. The food was marginal, and the service was spotty (bartenders waiting on the high tops). I realize this review seems like we are unfairly negative people, but that is not the case. Everything about the Steak and Seafood location was awesome. If only that same level of service and quality extended to Trattoria.

Have been to the two Vigillucci's in Carlsbad many times. Visited this location for the first time on the night AFTER Valentine's Day, so we expected a great dinner with none of the hubbub they likely had the night before.Food was great (4-5 stars), but the "experience" was ruined by the largely inattentive/nearly neglectful wait staff, making our meal fraught with mistakes.Maybe they were understaffed on this night (?), but it was one ridiculous thing after another:1) appetizer arrived prior to receiving drinks (which took way too long)2) the lasagna was hot, but obviously taken from an oven pan and put into a cold unattractive and inappropriate stainless steel vessel (rather than a nice warm /hot ceramic dish) that chilled the pasta quickly;3) neither of us were offered grated parmesan on our pasta; had to ask twice to get it;4) second order of drinks, one she brought was incorrect...another wait, ugh;5) almost forgot the kids pizza I ordered to go, since it never arrived before we got up to leave, and no one said anything...my impression is it just got left aside until I suddenly remembered it, when we were about to head out the front door.We found it VERY ODD that there are no white tablecloths; our table actually looked slightly dirty as a result, and utensils were laid out on this surface (yuck!).The comp table bread is totally unremarkable, and once again, we had to ask for more, rather than someone noticing we'd blown through the meager slices in the first basket and promptly replacing. Our server was very nice, but more than annoying/cloying with excuses, and without any apologies for the obvious lapses. Oh, and no offer of a complimentary dessert, which would have been appropriate. The singing pianist is a nice touch, and the man who seated us (who might be the manager) seemed proud of their nightly entertainment there.Bottom line: this is not what we expect from a $200 (tax/tip included) dinner out. Simply NOT the wonderful experience one would expect in a mid/high priced restaurant on a very busy street of competitive eateries. They clearly need to retrain and crack the whip here on food and bar staff. We've gotten better service at Olive Garden, and that's not a distortion. Therefore, cannot recommend. We'll just stick with the Carlsbad locations going forward...have never had a complaint about anything EVER at those restaurants.

Listen. Vigiluci's in Leucadia is where I often pick to go on a dine out with friends/family. The food is epic. Every single time!!! Every time!! We got salmon pasta, salmon dinner. Friends got pasta n meat sauce and steak cooked rare. I can't speak to steak or pasta but they devoured it and loved it very much. Omg the salmon. Wish I was a writer with words that can describe how amazing their salmon is! Does not ever smell fishy. MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH!! Never overpowering sauces so u can really enjoy the freshness and flavor of their high quality salmon!! Carpaccio appetizer was amazing. Steak also melted in your mouth with a hearty arugula salad on top!!! Desserts. Huuuge! We got 2 to share assuming they would be small portions. Wrong. Huge portions. Crème brûlée-10/10. Fruit topping soo creamy. Pistachio gelato with whip. With mint leaves. Yuuum!! 10/10. Drinks are always amazing as well not skimpy on tequila in their house margarita and wine pours are huge as well. Love love love Vigiluci's in Leucadia!!

It was so bad that I started laughing. 150 bucks for ragu and signature series spaghetti. Waiter forgot us. He legit forgot our order twice. We ordered the appetizer it was called like mozzerella popette? It was a soggy tomato cut an inch thick with some albertsons mozzerella slapped on the top. This place absolutely sucked. Im not a picky guy, but YUCK.

Server was not very attentive, a lot of wait time between drinks and ordering food. Asked for bread 3 times while we waited but took 30 minutes after seating to get it. Food came out in an okay amount of time. 15 minutes after eating they finally brought a steak knife for a filet mignon and around the same time they asked if I wanted cheese on my half eaten pasta. Server wasted no time getting a check. Very loud environment, felt stressed and could barely hear my guest. Food was very good but other than that it felt very stressful.

We had a lovely dinner here, the pasta is truly a craft. The restaurant ambiance was nice, the service was great. We walked in without a reservation and quickly learned we were quite lucky. Definitely make a reservation in advance!
