Love the food, it's hand made and fresh to order. With that being said; it does take time! Be patient. But it's worth the wait! If it's busy, be kind to your server/bartender. They have a core staff and the food quality is unlike any other! Fresh cut fries and their food is specialty ordered locally. Ask for the specials, they have them daily. Also they make a MEAN cocktail with whatever liquor choice you have just kind. PS. Try a cactus cooler from Darrell :)

We were craving a really good burger & a beer; read some of the reviews and thought we'd give Burger Construction a try . The bartender (Ariel) was very nice and accommodating. We ordered a Bison burger and Ortega Melt. Although the burger patty was decent, the entire burger was completely drenched in grease & butter. The Ortega Melt was just bad, really really bad. The meat was dry & overcooked, with a melted cheese & a few diced green chilis. The sourdough bread was so soaked in butter & grease, it had to be eaten with a fork. The fries were not edible, they were burnt, soggy & limp! We waited a total of 58 minutes (8 people total in the place) for our food. The atmosphere is uninviting & dirty. Worst part is... my husband and I were both very ill later in the evening with stomach pains & vomiting. We do our best to support local small businesses but unfortunately, we won't be revisiting.

Ok, so I was a little concerned based on the overall score and some of the comments but we tried it anyway. Darrell the bartender was great. Very friendly and accommodating. Burgers were great and the hand cut fries were as good as I have had. But the highlight was the fried mushrooms. They were very lightly battered and cooked to perfection. I have been looking for years for a place in San Diego that does these right. Score!

Ordered their best burger and the bison burger - with fries and a small salad.. Buns were soggy, meat was over cooked fries were limp and warmed over or something, definitely not crispy or fresh. Asked for blu cheese dressing but got ranch instead. Took 33 minutes to get the food. The other patrons were yelling and swearing loudly. The place is a dump. It needs a D9 upgrade. They charge a credit card fee for a $15 burger. Even the chain burger places are better and you don't have to listen to the F-word being used 30 times a minute.
Have totally enjoyed appetizers, Club Salad, teriyaki burger, sliders, French dip, and fries. Check out their daily specials. Chefs will accommodate special requests. Everything is fresh, made to order, and delicious. Friendly staff. Fun and inviting place to hang out.Parking: Convenient parking.

Food and service are a huge and welcomed surprise. Had an amazing time eating there. It is a bar, but if you want great food and very attentive staff, this is the place.

Good Food. I love their fried zucchini sticks, I recently tried them, they were prepared and cooked by the owner. Now, that says a lot!! My husband and I love the food there. They also have HH from 3-6. TVs inside and outside, so you can watch the game and enjoy the weather. The bartender is the sweetest!! His attentiveness does not go unnoticed.
