Super nice, friendly older man behind the counter helped me pick an item when I told him it was my first time visiting; ordered the Birria Taco plate.
Food came quickly. Rice and beans were very good. Tacos looked absolutely mouth watering, but unfortunately were boring. The cheese was excellent, as was the tortillas, but the Birria meat was almost flavorless and the cup of dipping sauce was basically onion water. Maybe those air force folks can't take any heat, but I would at least expect a strong Birria flavor.
I really wanted to love this place as much as the locals, but maybe I'm too spoiled.
I'll be back and try the carne asada. Everything else but the meat was very good.”

“I’ve been coming to Chicken Express for over 20+ years. They are known for their Mexican Rotisserie Chicken. You can order plates or family meals. What’s cool about this place is that you can get tortillas, salsas and Spanish rice with your chicken as well as more traditional sides such as coleslaw, garlic bread and potato salad.

I go the 12 pice family meal which came with choice of tortillas or garlic bread and 2 large sides (I got coleslaw and Spanish rice). The chicken was delicious like usual and the coleslaw tastes a lot like KFC’s coleslaw which I like. The garlic bread was a little soggy by the time I brought it home and could benefit from a little more seasoning. The Spanish rice also could be slightly more flavorful. They used to have a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa, but I did not see one and they did not include any in my togo which was disappointing (I did not realize until I got home).

They have a parking lot behind the restaurant with a decent amount of parking, but be aware of your surroundings (particularly as it gets dark) because it’s a little sketchy there due to some homeless hanging out there. This location is on the busy North Texas Street, so pulling out of the parking lot can take a bit if you need to make a left turn to go east on North Texas St.

If you want some delicious rotisserie chicken, this is the place to go. They have locations in Fairfield, Suisun and Vallejo. The least sketchy location would be at the Suisun location.”

I’m Congolese so my spice level is very high but my young kids spice level isn’t as advanced as mine yet so the spice level option was perfect. The food was balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with love. My absolute favorite was the Fried tilapia & rice my daughter and I finished that one pretty fast. He seasoned it like a grandmother would so that should tell you what you need to know. Very kind guy and wonderful food. I will most definitely be a returning client. The outdoor tables are round & right next to the parking lot; but we pushed 6 tables together & fortunately it was a quiet day at the shopping center, so the noise level was low. They have a large selection of dishes to be ordered for lunch or dinner. I had the albondigas soup & thought it was great. I don't believe anyone complained about their food. My husband ordered the skirt steak fajitas & liked it. The margaritas are huge, and while not heavy on the alcohol, were pleasant tasting. After the wind came up, we decided to move inside to their one large table that seats 8-9 people comfortably. We stayed there for a total of about 5 1/2 hours & never felt rushed to leave. Our waiter was very patient & accommodating for us, quite attentive (i.e., he never forgot about us sitting out there on the sidewalk by the parking lot), and gave really excellent service, which we rewarded quite handsomely. Overall, the food is good, they have a full bar inside & the service was excellent. I would definitely go there again!”

“My son (47) and I (78) went there today. It recently opened.No one there except an Indian woman and man. It is their place. Nothing is prepared until you order. The fish is very hot when delivered to your table. The fries are great and properly salted. The onion rings were a disappointment. The cold slaw was just cabbage with mayo. The portions are adequate. Soft drinks in a can. We like to go to small, family restaurants. We will not be going back to this one.”

We started off with the hot and sour soup, which was delicious, and I truly enjoyed the texture. It felt silky and the flavor was there. For our mains, we got salt & pepper pork chop, sweet and sour chicken, combo chow mein, Mongolian beef and sautéed broccoli. Everything was hot and fresh. The shrimp in the chow mein was tender, the chicken and pork chop dish both had a great crunch to it and the broccoli was perfectly cooked.

If I come here again and get this much cheese I will be asking for the proper amount free of charge because this is so annoying I didn't pay for a half full container and no cheese in my CHEESY burrito. -Edit, as I said I normally love this place!
