“I really like Ayawaska. My friends and I sat in the bar area, but just inside the patio and it was a lovely environment. The food was really good, I had the Ahi Tuna and Grilled Octopus. Both were tasty. We had wine and cocktails and overall enjoyed ourselves. I recommend this place for sitting outside too. The patio is beautiful, I have also enjoying plates to share and cocktails out on the patio. I'm not 100% sure this place is worth the very expensive price tag that goes with it, but I continue to go back.“

“This will forever be one of the places we miss most after moving away from San Anselmo/Fairfax. Whether we were finishing a long hike on Mt Tam, a short dog walk, or just need a pint to take the edge off, this was one of our go to spots. We spent countless hours here and think of it often. It's exactly the type of watering hole everyone needs - no pretentiousness, just a nice cold beer, a brat, and a fun crowd. If you haven't checked out Gestalt Haus, you're missing out.“

Peri's Tavern Bar • $
29 Broadway, Fairfax - 5.88 miles

“This is a great place to drink, hang, and see music. This is only one issue with this place. The band stage is right next to the entrance and narrowest point, with only about 8-10 feet between it and the bar. As a selling point to get people it, this issue makes the place look crowded and happening, but it can make for a too packed area near the band and bar. I wish they could push back the wall and take away some of the outside area so there was more room between the bar and the band, but I'm a dance/music guy. Otherwise a great local place. poolroom and outside areas to hang. Enjoy the Fairfax.“

Log Cabin Dugout Bar Bar • $
20 Veterans Pl, San Anselmo - 7.13 miles

“5 Stars for great, inexpensive drinks. No food served here unless you count popcorn as a food. Classic stop fore for 25 plus years. Friday's rock after 9. Not for everyone, fancy is NOT a word that can be applied to the Cabin. But fun and dive bar are perfect ways to describe it!“

Nave's Bar & Grill Bar • $$
20 Bolinas Rd, Fairfax - 5.85 miles

“Exceptional service! We came for the place next door but opted for this place instead. What a good choice we made and what a special place this is. The bartender CANDICE was amazing! She was so friendly, professional, and looked right at me. I was a human to her and not a dollar sign or a consumer- she is the customer ideal. She seemed to know most of the people that came in and left by name. It was a rare treat to see that level of community these days. The picture with all the dollar bills on the ceiling is this fun game where you throw a bill, a tack and 2 quarters up and the quarters push the tack into the ceiling! How fun! A few times a year they’ll pull it all down and do something special with the money. For instance, earlier this year one of the regulars son had a medical emergency and that’s what all the money went towards. I love how true to the heart of the community a place like this is.Ok, more! Yes, there’s more. So this place was a grocery store during the prohibition and you can ask Candice all about that and the underground tunnels and fun rare things that only a local will tell you about around the area. This place has been here since the 1930’s!Cheers to them, my new favorite place whenever I’m in town. I look forward to my next visit.“

“Matteucci's is a legendary Marin institution and one of the last of it's kind. This is an old-fashioned neighborhood bar with long-time regulars, good drink prices, impeccable service and relaxed atmosphere.Matteucci's harken's back to a near lost time when we all went to local bars afterwork where "everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came".I come as often as I can, usually with friends to kick back, have a good drink, talk and laugh. I love it, I'm sure you will too.(Matteucci's doesn't server food. I gave it 4 stars because they allow and encourage deliver food service!! Awsome!)“

ATM Machine at Moylan's Brewery & Restaurant Bars • $$
15 Rowland Way, Novato - 9.01 miles

“Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Cleanliness and spaciousness: 5 stars We were on an errand run that took us 300 miles north of home. We coordinated with a West Marin relative to meet for lunch, and Moylan's was her pick: easy freeway access, plentiful parking, lots of varied menu options. Unfortunately, as we had a long drive home ahead of us, we weren't able to fully partake of the plentiful and diverse beer menu, but our server gave me a sample of Dragoon's Dry Irish Stout (so delicious) as well as San Quentin's Breakout Stout (smoother, more chocolaty, but a second-choice for me). Our server was attentive (didn't keep bugging us about ordering since we clearly were talking, then talking with each other ABOUT what we MIGHT order) and settled in as he saw we were ready to order. Friendly service, accurate, attentive. The food came out much more quickly than I had anticipated, and was all hot and tasty. Blue cheese burgers (one with TRULY garlicky garlic fries, the other with proper beer-battered onion rings - none of that crumbly stuff), and one lamb stew with a side of bread and butter. All three of us came away satiated, happy with our food, and having shared bites of each others because it all looked so tempting! Looking forward to returning for a brewer focused meal on a day with a more open schedule and no driving required.“
