“Artis is probably the best Indian food in Marin county! I love this restaurant and the people that work there. They are all so kind, friendly, and all very attentive. During the holiday season they even put on a community lunch and gave away huge plates of several different items and even had vegetarian and vegan options available! Pretty special thing for a small business to do for their customers and community, especially in this day and age when so many restaurants are struggling. Their restaurant is also nicely put together, has a warm ambiance even though the restaurant is small inside, and have a nice patio area to sit outside when the weather permits it. So many good things to say about this restaurant, the owners, and their staff! This place is and will continue to be one of my go to spots in Marin County!“

“I was unexpectedly invited to dinner at this restaurant yesterday. The ambiance is warm & convivial- casual yet with the type of attentive service that I've only seen at much more formal (and pricier!) establishments. I have a number of food sensitivities/allergies and dining out can be very challenging but this place had MANY items that I could eat. I've never been to Italy but this struck me as very authentic cuisine- high quality fresh ingredients prepared perfectly and presented beautifully. I had the asparagus salad with grilled chicken added, and prior to the food I had a Macchiato which was also perfect. I tried some of my friends' polenta crepe, also divine. We arrived a bit after 5pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately, just ahead of the evening rush. This was my first visit to Fairfax and I will definitely come back!“

“We loved this place two years ago! To an extent that we drove one extra hour to this place for a second meal. However, it is a bit disappointing this time. The chicken is dry inside , not juicy like before . The apple fritter is very dry inside . The lettuce salad is not fresh ( green stem shows pinkness already ) . Service is great .“

“My husband and I were traveling through Novato and found this little restaurant on Yelp. We came in through their store and the gentleman behind the counter told us to go to the back of the store and turn right. The restaurant has a small eating area with a tv but clean. Didn't know what to order because their menu is extensive and they have daily specials to boot! With the help of our waitress we got the pupusas, tacos chapines,and a salad (asked them to make one up). She was so friendly and accommodating! They made us a salad with iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and avocados. Didn't have salad dressing but came with lime wedges so we squeezed that with pepper and it was really tasty! The tacos chapinas were to die for as were the pupusas! The pupusas we had were the bean & cheese, pork, and the cheese and zucchini. The tortillas are hand made and part of the kitchen is exposed to you can see and hear the woman making them. Lots of people were coming in for take out orders and wish I could be around to try all their dishes!! If we come through here we'll definitely stop to eat here again!!“

It marred any enjoyment of the meal. When my sister wanted to go here for her birthday dinner last night , I said yes with my fingers crossed. Our server Christina greeted us upon arrival and throughout the dinner was attentive without being intrusive. She was knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. We enjoyed the fig cheese flatbread, pork chop, steak frites and a delicious dessert. Eating under the tent has a wonderful ambiance. We received attention but never felt rushed. “We have been looking for great pizza since we moved to Marin a little over a year ago. I am happy to tell you that we finally found it! This pizza is as close to Neapolitan style that can be found in Marin. They have unique and well thought flavor combinations, especially the "Pizza of the Month" offering. My favorite is the "Escalle": tomato, house mozzarella, house sausage, Zoe’s pepperoni & fennel pollen. I get mine with extra red sauce. They offer a take and bake option where your pizza will be mostly baked and you finish it off at home. This is a great option because your pizza will be as hot and fresh as possible when you pull it out of the oven. The pasta dishes are also tasty and well thought. If you have a sweet tooth I highly recommend the "Butterscotch Pudding" it is absolutely divine.“

Beers on tap, indoor and outdoor seating, and the occasional bard with guitar and amp posted near the entrance give this place a fun and relaxing feel. They have many vegan friendly options. I recommend the jackfruit tacos when they are on special.“
