The coffee was rich, smooth, and so flavorful—definitely some of the best I’ve had! The almond croissant was perfectly flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. The service was good, though I wish they had noticed the two small cracks on the rim of my cup—it would’ve made the experience even better. Overall, it’s a great spot for a cozy coffee break! Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality pastries and well-crafted drinks.”

“We are from Connecticut, and during a recent trip to the Bay Area, we had the extreme good fortune to try the Afghan Awasana Kabob House. Oh my ... what an experience! The food was superb … an epicurean delight, but also plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The qabuli palow - a lamb shank dish was a standout, and the squash bolani - a stuffed flatbread was out of this world. The owner was very friendly during dinner, only to be surpassed by what happened after our dinner. Upon leaving, our car would not start. The owner offered to jump start our car. When that did not work, he offered us a ride back to the house where we were staying ... which we gratefully accepted. On the way, while we were thanking him profusely, he indicated that this was not an imposition as he routinely gave rides to his workers. I was moved to tears with his generosity. The Afghan Awasana Kabob House stimulated my palate, satiated my appetite, and above all, nourished my soul with renewed faith in the kindness of humanity. A truly memorable evening that will not soon be forgotten.”

Service: No issues. I picked up my order by name, and that was it.
Atmosphere: The setting is simple and casual, with a cafeteria-like vibe. It’s good for a laid-back meal but not for anything formal.
Overall: It’s a decent spot with a smaller menu. Two orders of dim sum were enough to satisfy me, and I’d come back if I was in the mood for a quick and easy dim sum fix.

Our server was fantastic and very attentive. However, the food was just okay. We both agreed that it used to be better in the past. We were too full for dessert, so we ended up chatting for a while before heading out.

She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, all with a warm smile that felt so genuine. She even spoke Japanese to me! The chef, too, came out to check on our meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. It’s rare to encounter people this kind and passionate about what they do.

It’s a casual, cafeteria-style business with a small but cozy dining area. Irene was very welcoming and was happy to describe some of the dishes. Her customer service is exceptional! We enjoyed everything we ordered….the Longsilog with garlic rice, eggs & tomato, the Sinigang with pork, Kare-kare (loved the tender oxtail and tripe in peanut sauce), Pinakbet (like the way mom made it!), the Kaldareta, and calamansi juice. For dessert we had the fried Turon which was sweet and crispy. Their homestyle dishes are all fresh and delicious. We found a “happy place” for Filipino cuisine where we will go from now on. We highly recommend Manila Turo-Turo. You won’t be disappointed!”

The food was superb … an epicurean delight, but also plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The qabuli palow - a lamb shank dish was a standout, and the squash bolani - a stuffed flatbread was out of this world. The owner was very friendly during dinner, only to be surpassed by what happened after our dinner. Upon leaving, our car would not start. The owner offered to jump start our car. When that did not work, he offered us a ride back to the house where we were staying ... which we gratefully accepted. On the way, while we were thanking him profusely, he indicated that this was not an imposition as he routinely gave rides to his workers. I was moved to tears with his generosity. The Afghan Awasana Kabob House stimulated my palate, satiated my appetite, and above all, nourished my soul with renewed faith in the kindness of humanity. A truly memorable evening that will not soon be forgotten.”
